Chapter 12

An uncertain Minute. Michael's POV. Weak! I expected much from her. This wasn't what Mr. Robertson promised me. I would have thought she would have stamina, balance at least. But her knees wobbled as though her bones had been extracted from her body and left to tremble like a flaccid lump of flesh. She continued sobbing quietly as she stared at me with innocent eyes. I couldn't tell what she expected from me. Maybe she thought I would cave if she continued flashing those doe eyes at me. “Those maids had their lives,” she sniffled. “We don't have the right to take it from them like some cold-hearted brute,” “Gosh! What was I thinking?” She exclaimed. Then, she fell into silence for a while. “Are you done putting up a show?” I asked. She looked up at me, her eyes widening in surprise. “Huh?” She mumbled weakly. “I said are you done? Is there more where that came from?” I continued. “You think this is a joke?” She replied, her voice shaky and weak. I stepped forward, my shadow casting a veil all over her. I clenched my fists and my eyes darted straight at hers. “Do I look like I make jokes?” She flinched and stepped back, but I moved with her pace until she tripped on her feet and let out a soft scream. “You must have a tough time listening to rules. I don't take offenders lightly, I teach them a lesson, I show them that they are worthless the moment they disobey my rules,” I jammed my fists together and leaned closer. “And if you want to be part of the people that go against what I say, I'll let you know that I can easily break you,” My voice cut through the air but I wasn't sure it sank into her. Her eyes were still fixed on me, unflinching and unwavering. A slight look of defiance was etched on her face as she slowly stood up on her feet and bowed her head. “Forgive me, Alpha,” she pleaded, but something about her tone was stern and… unforgiving. “Again,” I uttered. “I need to hear you're sorry and not with that tone,” She gasped silently and gulped for breath. “But I just…” “I hate to repeat myself!” I snapped. She shivered for a split second and took a deep breath. “Forgive me, Alpha” she repeated, forced but softer. “And what are you apologizing for?” I questioned with a strict look. “For… I… you…” she stuttered as her breath swallowed her voice. “I can't hear you, speak up!” “I'm sorry for questioning your presence and… disrespect,” she murmured. I snickered with a cunning look and raised her chin with my thumb. “Good.” “This is your second strike, Vivienne. Exhaust the last strike and I don't think you're gonna enjoy the privileges you have here.” “Maybe your father didn't tell you, but you are useless until I have seen your worth,” I continued. She breathed in heavily and pressed her lips tightly as though trying to hold back a tear. “Can I be excused?” She mumbled. “Alpha,” My eyes trailed down her breast as they moved in rhythm with her breath. Sweat had begun to form on her neck and her forehead. Whatever she was trying to hold back was doing a number on her. I dropped my hands and nodded sternly at her to leave. Without wasting a second, she turned her back to leave, slamming the door behind her. The room went silent as she trailed off and I strolled back to my chair. The images of her boobs kept popping up in my head like a video on repeat. I sensed she was going to be stubborn but she seemed pretty weak standing up to me. She had the worst combo of traits a father could ever pass on to his daughter. Weak and stubborn. That was the clear alternative to being annoying. Soon, I didn't know when I went deep into my thoughts about her until a hard clasp snapped me out of my head. “Alpha,” Stephen bowed his head. “One of the prisoners is ready to speak,” “Speak? This isn't the first time I have heard this report,” my lips twisted “This time's different, Alpha. The prisoner is ready to reveal the location and whoever sent them.” My eyes flashed with a spark of hope. I was getting bored with the torture session I had with them. It felt like they got used to the pain immediately after I was done with them. And I was only a few days from having them executed. “Which of them?” I asked, rising from my seat. “I have been fighting this battle for a long time and I need it to stop. For my safety and everyone like me,” I moved down the flight of stairs and walked up to Stephen. “It's their leader, Alpha. One of the prisoners…” Stephen paused and tapped his foot on the floor. “... One of the prisoners gave up yesterday night. I think that was all the motivation they needed to give us answers,” “Why didn't you pass this news to me earlier?” I replied. “You were busy and I got this news just an hour ago.” I stood brooding over the update until I heaved a sigh and moved towards the door. The doors opened and we moved down the hallway. A few breaths away from the doors of the dungeon, Donna and two other new recruits walked past me with empty trays. They bowed their heads, as their eyes fixated on the floor and their shoulders trembled. They were a few feet behind me when I suddenly stopped and turned to face Donna. “Hey,” I beckoned. They all stopped and turned to me, their eyes still fixed on the floor. “Yes, Alpha. How may we be of service?” It was time, I thought to myself. If I were occupied with the thought of her, I might as well get a taste of her. “Get her ready for tonight. Welcome her to my chamber,” I ordered. Donna suddenly raised her head up, her mouth partially open. “The Luna?” She asked. I gnashed my teeth at her and arched my brows in displeasure. Who the f**k would I be talking about if not her? “Forgive me for being silly,” she fell on her knees. “She’ll be ready tonight, Alpha” “Good!” I turned back “and Donna, do not waste my time,”
