I woke up tired and sore. As if I had ran 5 marathons yesterday. Giovanni must had already left for work because I didn't see or hear him and the bathroom door was open.
I swear the Alpha and Beta never get any real rest.
My doctor's appointment is today. Surely Gio didn't forget. I got up, got ready and headed to Josie's. We have a couple hours before we have to leave.
When I got to Josie's house, it was like a mad house. People were running around. Others were arguing. For a second I thought I walked into the wrong house. It's normally quiet and empty, but then I saw Jen and Vera near the kitchen.
I walked up to them, "What is going on around here?" I asked.
"Well, some are trying to get things ready for the wedding, others are here about the rogues that are still here, some for the injured in the school and everyone else.... I don't know." Vera said, as if she were exhausted.
"Ok.... Why?"
"I don't know..... It's been like this since 6:00a.m."
"Where is everyone else?"
"They're upstairs in the office meeting with everyone one by one." Jen replied.
"Ok. First, tell everyone that is here for the wedding to leave and call me to make arrangements. Then, found out why everyone is here. And if it's not an emergency, tell them to make an appointment for another day and leave. I'm gonna go upstairs and talk with everyone else." I told them.
They agreed that they would try to do so.
I went upstairs and knocked on the office door. Josie came and opened it. I walked in behind her and closed the door behind me. Josie and I went in and sat down on the sofa. Sam and Gio were behind the big desk with two warriors and the Gamma in front of them.
I could hear they were talking about yesterday, but I couldn't hear much because Josie was also whispering at me. I was looking at Gio.
"Did you see that mess downstairs?" she asked.
I looked back at her, "Ya. I told Jen and Vera how to handle it."
"Well, let's hope they can soon."
Just then the Gamma and warriors stood up and headed out.
Josie and I stood up too. We headed to the desk the guys were behind.
I spoke first, "I told Jen and Vera to send everyone away with an appointment that didn't have an emergency. Everyone here for the wedding will call me later. So, everything else ok?"
"We have to meet with everyone that is here." said Sam.
"Well, you don't have to do it today if it's not an emergency." Josie argued. "We all need rest and time."
"Time for what?" said Sam.
"Time to think and process what happened. And figure out what our, and their, next moves are."
"Well, first, let's all go get some food and talk. Gio and I only have a couple hours before we have to leave." I told them.
They all agreed and we headed down stairs. When we got to the staircase, I noticed that about half the people had gone.
some of the people must have smelt or heard us because they started crowding at the bottom of the stairs.
Sam came to the front of the line and started to address everyone.
"Everyone, please." Sam says as he raises his hands to come everybody for them to listen. "If you are here and it is not an emergency, please, form a line to make an appointment with my mother or with Jen, my mother-in-law. I will meet with each of you on your appointment date and time. I will not meet with anyone that doesn't have an appointment. Thank you."
As he finishes the crowd moves and heads to make lines where Vera and Jen were.
We head down the stairs and to the kitchen for some food.
After about 20 minutes or so, Jen and Vera joined us.
Everyone looked so exhausted. After an hour and 35 minutes, we had talked about most of the subject that had brought the pack to the house today.
I stood up. "Ok everyone, we would love to stay all day with you guys, but Gio and I have to get to the doctor today," I announced while pushing in my chair.
Giovanni and Jen got up too.
I looked at Jen. "Where are you going?" I asked.
"With you guys. What? You really think I'm not going to go to every appointment that you're going to have with my first grandchild?" She said smiling.
Everyone just laughed.
We said our goodbyes and got on the road.
I'm nervous to say the least, but happy too. I'm not sure what to expect. Giovanni grabbed my hand. I looked at him. He just smiled at me. I think he could feel my emotions. I smiled back and gave his hand a little squeeze to say thanks. I'm so happy that I have Gio, Jen, Josie. And now, I also have Sam, Vera and a whole pack of wolves.
After saying that to myself, it kind of sounds surreal. If you had asked me at anytime in my life, if I thought that this would happen one day, I would never have thought anything like this. I never even knew werewolves existed before Josie. And now, I'm gonna be married to one and friends with a whole pack.
I must have been lost in thought because before I knew it we were already at the doctor's office.
It looks like a regular doctor's office building. After saying that I want to kick myself in the ass. How could I be so judgemental. I mean, was I expecting a creepy house with a black cat in the front and a cauldron.
Sigh....
