I went out to the middle of the clearing. I yelled to the rogues to stop now and turn around or else. When none of them moved I started getting a bad feeling. Next thing I see is an older man come out of the forest and into the clearing heading in my direction.
"Or else what?" He asked back.
I knew right away that he was the Rogue Alpha that wants Josie. I summoned a ball of fire from each barrel. I now had ten fireballs circling over my head.
"Is that all?" He asked.
Ok now he's just pissing me off. His attitude, like he could do better. I'll show him. I called out a spell and the ground began to shake and brake apart just in front of the rogue alpha. He jumped back so not to fall in.
"Are you going to do magic tricks all night or are you going to give me the white wolf?" The alpha barked.
"You can have her over our dead bodies!" I yelled and sent the fireballs flying into the crack in front of the rogues. The crack caught on fire and I sent the flames high into the air. Unfortunately, they didn't waste any time. They started jumping over the flames. Five or ten at a time. All the wolves charged at Sam's howls.
I just needed to find the alpha now. It was hard to see which one was him. All the rogues were different sizes and colors. Honestly, if I hadn't marked our pack before hand, I could have hurt them.
I found Gio, Sam and Josie not far from me. I zig zagged through the fighting. Throwing a couple of rogues on my way. I got beside Josie. I turned her fur brown before the fighting so that the alpha wouldn't know it was her. I just need to keep her away from water.
I tried helping the other wolves while still looking for the rogue alpha. I sent balls of fire, water and air flying through the battlefield. Hitting wolves and knocking them over or out. I didn't want to kill them, I just wanted them to leave and never come back.
Just when I was lost in thought, the ugly alpha shows his face. He jumped out of the forest behind Josie and I. He was big. His fur was black as night and he had almost coal black eyes. I could barely see him. All I could really see was the whites of his eyes and his teeth. He looked like a demon shadow.
The guys were fighting with the rogues and couldn't help. It's as if he told all the rogues to attack them all at once.
Josie growled and snapped at him. But he wasn't even scared. I tried throwing magic at him but he dodged most of it. I started thinking maybe he was a demon.
I summoned a few of the wooden stakes. Hopefully I can hit him with these. Sending a couple at a time, preying at least one would hit. But he was fast.
My mind was racing. I didn't know what else to do…. Water! I told Josie to distract him while I concentrated. I focused on him and began pulling the water out of his body.
It was hard but I kept focusing. Soon he started slowing down and coughing. When he seen what I was doing, he charged right at me. Luckily, Gio rammed into him before he could get to me. Which gave me the chance to finish the spell. The rogue alpha was dead.
I turned to the battlefield and summoned air. I lifted the rogues up into the air and signaled for them to see their alpha.
"Leave now or you'll end with the same fate!" I yelled and threw them to the ground. I put out the fire so they could pass.
Most of them got up and ran. But there were a few that were hurt and couldn't run or didn't want to.
We canvased the battlefield for the wounded and dead. Luckily it was a short battle and in the end no one on our side died. Two of theirs, plus the alpha were dead.
I asked Sam to do a funeral for the two that died. Ok, more like begged. It wasn't their fault they were following their alpha. I told him at least we could do is cremate the bodies since we don't know who their families are. In the end, he agreed.
They moved to the bodies close to the crack in the ground where the flaming wall was. A few of the other wolves came over. I torched the alpha's body and with my powers, tossed him into the hole.
For the other two, I said some nice words and set their body on fire too. I looked around and found two bigger sized rocks and put them at the foot of the fire as headstones. I carved on them:
Unknown Rogue
Battle for the White Wolf
Josie looked at me, "Really!?"
"What?" I answered. She just rolled her eyes and walked away.
Everyone headed back to the school. I took down the barrier and helped with the injured. The women who stayed at the school set up cots for the injured. The doctor was there waiting.
Gio found me and told me to go home and rest. "Take Josie, Jen and Vera with you!" I argued that I wanted to help but then he told me to think of the baby. And with that, I grabbed the ladies and went home.
Gio and Sam got back late. I could hear them talking outside. I stayed in our room waiting. Shortly after the talking had stopped, Gio walked into the bedroom. I sat up on the bed.
"Come get some rest," I told him while motioning to his pillow. "It's late and you fought a good hard battle. And then helped with the injured. That's why I love you! You're such a great man."
He laid down on the bed. "I love you too! You are a great woman."
I turned off the lights and laid my head on his chest and we drifted to sleep.
