Chapter 16

1152 Words
The fight will be here any day now. Josie and I haven’t stopped training. Gio found a doctor for us to go see next week. I'm kind of worried and excited. We also decided on a date for the wedding. One month from now. I hope it's enough time. I’m designing all the dresses. Josie is my Maid of honor and Sylvia will be a bridesmaid. Gio and I decided on Royal blue, white and gold for the wedding colors. I'm thinking a royal blue dress for Josie and a gold dress for Sylvia. And a non traditional wedding dress for me. Jen is gonna walk me down the aisle. Since she's the only family I have. But I can't be thinking about the wedding right now. First, the fight, then the doctor and lastly the wedding. With only days left before the fight, everyone has been a little on edge and training hard. I went over to Josie's house. I was thinking that we all need a break and relax for a day. I'm thinking, maybe another pool party. It would be perfect. I found Josie in the living room with Jen. "Hey you guys," I greeted them. "Hey Dom," they both replied. "What are you guys doing?" "We're talking about the wedding," Josie said. Then added, "What are you doing?" "I'm here because I wanted to talk to all of you about having another pool party for everyone." "That's a great idea," Sam's voice says coming up behind me. Sam and Gio we're walking through the foyer into the living room. "I'll let everyone know," Gio said. "Let's get ready," Josie said as she jumped up. "I'll help with that," I grinded. With a snap of my fingers, everyone was in their bathing suits. Everyone kind of jumped at the surprise. I just chuckled a little. "Dom!," everyone said in unison. I just laughed. "What?!" I asked. They all just kinda rolled their eyes. But Jen says, "Thanks for almost giving me a heart attack." "Sorry. I didn't mean to." "Please warn me next time. I'm still trying to get used to you using magic around me." "I know. Sorry Jen. Come on, let's go get the food ready while the boys set up outside and let everybody know about the party." I said heading for the kitchen. Everyone agreed. Jen and Josie came with me to the kitchen while the guys went outside, started setting up and mind linked everyone. The day went by great. Everyone that came had fun. Today was a great fun relaxing day that we all needed. After everything died down, we cleaned up. Gio and I headed home. We were pretty tired. We went straight to bed. While laying in bed, I asked Gio what name he was thinking about for the baby. He only answered, "Something unique." I left it at that and fell asleep in his arms. Three mornings later I woke up today knowing that today was the day. The 'War' was going to be this evening. Anxiety came over me just thinking about it. We trained hard for this. But even so, I know we'll have some losses on both sides. The pack made a clearing in the woods for the fight. I told them to put four(4) barrows of water and ten(10) barrows of fire around the clearing. Also, to cut up the trees that they cleared and make 2ft long pieces with one end pointed. I'm hoping to use these things to scare off the other wolves. Maybe them seeing magic will scare them to think that there's more of us than they think. But the fire is mostly for me to see really. With everyone else being wolves they can see better than me, in the day and night. I sent a text to everyone letting them know I'm heading over. Gio had left early this morning for work, so everyone was already at Josie's house. With a snap I was dressed and headed over. Josie, Jen, Vera and I all had breakfast together under the gazebo. Trying to make some last minute arrangements. So much will be happening today and the next few weeks. I just want everything to go right. But I think I'm more worried about the baby than anything else. We have an appointment tomorrow afternoon with the doctor in the next town over. They say she has all different kinds of patients that she sees. Or should I say all kinds of creatures. Including humans. I just keep repeating to myself, "Everything is going to be ok!" I started getting butterflies in my stomach and had to run to the bathroom. Maybe it's just morning sickness. Josie was outside the door when I opened it. "Are you doing ok?" She asked. "Ya. I'm good. It's just morning sickness I'm sure." I told her. "You'll be having it too soon." I joked. "Hey, don't be jinxing me. I'm hoping to wait another five years or so." She laughed. "You liar. You know you can't wait. You and Sam are all over each other. You'll be popping out pups left and right." I laughed at her. She rolled her eyes, grabbed my hand and we walked outside. Jen and Vera were still under the gazebo talking. And of course, when we neared, they asked if I was ok or if I needed anything. I told them that I was fine and it's just a little bit of mourning sickness. Just before lunch the guys and a few others joined us to talk about the events that will be happening. I hate calling it a war. Wars are always wrong and so bloody. I almost wanted to cry thinking about it. Sam mind linked the pack and told them that after lunch all women, children and elderly are to head to the school and wait there until he contacts them again. We all ate lunch and started heading to our assigned places. The ladies and I double checked every house to make sure no one was left behind. We all met at the school. Vera made sure there was plenty of food and water for everyone. After it was confirmed that everybody was inside that needed to be inside, I put a protective barrier around the school. Now the rogues can't get to them. Everyone else headed for the clearing. It was already dark by the time we got there. Only one fire was lit, so I couldn't see much. But I could hear. I heard a lot of cracking and some crawls. The werewolves we're shifting. It wouldn't be long now. Every second felt like minutes. Every minute felt like hours. Till, five rogues jumped out into the clearing. With that, I lit the other barrels with fire. To see the least, it definitely surprised the rogues in the clearing and in the woods.
