Chapter 15

1554 Words
I woke up really hungry. Since we didn’t eat dinner last night. I sat up in bed. Gio was already up. Hopefully, he’s making breakfast. I’d love some eggs and bacon right now. Oh, and some orange juice. My stomach started growling thinking about food. Just then, Gio walked in the bedroom holding a tray. He brought it over to me and set it over my legs after I had adjusted myself in the bed. There was a plate with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage links and fried potatoes. Another plate with some toast on it. Two glasses, one with milk and the other with orange juice. Silverware on a napkin and a small vase with a pretty tulip in it. “Good morning, mi amor,” Gio sang before kissing my forehead. “Good morning. Why are you so happy?” I asked. “Because I have the most perfect wife and now a perfect daughter on the way.” “Wife?” I corrected. “Yes. If you’ll have me as your husband.” He dropped to his knees and leaned over the bed. He grabbed my hand and asked, “Dominique Wilson, will you marry me?” He pulled out a silver ring with a diamond on it from his pocket. I smiled at him and squealed, “Yes. Yes I’ll marry you.” I handed him my left hand. He placed the ring on my finger and climbed into the bed and hugged me. Then kissed my lips hard with excitement. “Whenever you’re ready. You pick the date and I’ll be there,” he joked. “Funny. Well, I think it should be after the war but before I start showing. What do you think?” I asked. “Perfecto, mi amor. The sooner, the better. Then we can go on our honeymoon,” he smiled playfully. “What are you talking about? Every night here with you is like being on a honeymoon.” I joked. We both laughed. And then kissed again. “Eat and get ready. Meet me over at Sam’s house. Ok?” he says. “Ok.” I replied. I finished breakfast. Showered and got dressed. I stopped and looked in the long mirror. I started picturing my belly bigger, turning to the side and sticking it out laughing at myself. Then a wave of worry passed over me. Will I be a good mom? I shook it off. I headed downstairs and out the door. I took the long way to Sam and Josie’s house. I think I’ll hold off on using big magic for now. I don’t know how it would affect the baby. I probably need to see a doctor but one that knows about witches. I walked into the house and heard a commotion from the kitchen. I went through the foyer to the kitchen. I saw everyone standing around the island. There was Gio, Josie, Jen, Sam, Vera, Steven, Ron, Vicky, Rider and Sylvia. They all yelled “Congratulations!” I’m not sure for which thing, the baby or the wedding. Maybe both. Did Gio have this planned from before he asked me? What if I said no? Ha-ha. “Thank you everyone. For what exactly?” I asked. Josie came up to me and said, “For the baby and now a wedding.” I knew it. Gio did have this planned. I looked over at Gio with a ‘really’ look on my face. I didn’t really want anyone to know just yet. About both things, but now I can see that he doesn’t know how to keep a secret at all. I get that he’s excited about everything though. And I guess it’s ok. They are our family. Everyone came up to me, one by one, and congratulated me and Gio. Who was now standing beside me. We all sat around and talked for about an hour or so. Then all the guys had to go to work. Now it was just us girls. “What are you gonna name your baby?” Sylvia asked, “It’s a girl, right?” “Ya. I’m not sure yet. We really haven’t discussed it.” I replied. “What color theme are you going for for the wedding?” Josie asked. “I’m not sure about that either. I mean, I just found out yesterday that I was pregnant and just this morning got engaged.” All the ladies started talking to each other, while I was thinking to myself. It’s only been two days. Maybe this is happening too fast. I’m still young. This is exactly what I didn’t want to happen in my life. I don’t want this right now. “Dom?” I heard Josie say. “What?” I said, coming back to here and now. “Do you want to have lunch under the gazebo today with just us girls?” “Oh, ya. Sure. That would be nice.” “Are you ok?” she whispered. “Ya. I’m good.” Josie looked at me and only said, “Ok.” But I know Josie. She’ll be asking me again when no one is around. We always know when something is wrong with the other one. It would be like a twin sister bond thing. If, we were twins or sisters. I guess we’re sisters at heart. I got up and went to the bathroom. As I was walking out, sure enough. There was Josie. “Are you trying to scare the crap out of me?” I asked her. “No. But I wanna know what’s wrong.” she took my hand into hers. “I know you, Dom. Tell me.” I pulled her into the bathroom and I sat down on the toilet. I told her, “I’m not sure I want all of this. The baby. The wedding. It’s too much. The war with the rogues is just around the corner. And I’m scared that if I use magic, I’ll hurt the baby. This is what I didn’t want to happen before we came here and it’s exactly what’s happened.” I sighed. “I get it. You’re overwhelmed with everything and scared. But it will be ok. You have all of us to help you with anything you need. And you know Gio is a good man. And I know he’ll be a great husband and father.” Sigh! I know she’s right. Gio is great and I know he’ll be a great dad. I’m still just so worried about everything. “You know, it’s normal and ok to be worried about things,” Josie tells me while kneeling down beside me, “Like I said though, you’re not alone. You know Jen and Vera are gonna go grandma crazy with this baby. And I’m gonna help take care of everything with the wedding since I’m the Maid of honor.” then raising her head up. “And who says you’re gonna be the maid of honor?” I laughed. “Me. Because I’m the best,” she giggled. I reached over and gave her a big hug. “You are the best. What would I do without you?” I told her. The rest of the afternoon, all of us ladies sat under the gazebo, ate lunch and talked. They all gave me some good ideas on the wedding and the baby’s room. Before we knew it, it was 5:00pm. Vera asked for me and Giovanni to stay for dinner. We did. Vera, Jen, Josie and I filled Gio and Sam in on everything us ladies had talked about today over lunch. Afterwards, Gio and I went home. We talked a little about today, but mostly we couldn’t keep our hands off each other once in the house. Gio picked me up bridal style and headed to the bedroom. He laid me down on the bed and climbed up beside me. I wanted him but something was stopping me from enjoying everything. And Gio noticed. “We don’t have to make love tonight if you don’t want to,” he voiced. “I’m sorry. I do. It’s just something is bothering me and I’m not sure what.” “Is it me? Am I being too much for you?” “No. You're the best. Everyone is great too. It’s something else.” I turned to him, now laying on my side. “I want to see a doctor about the baby.” “Ok. We can call the doctor in the morning.” “Not the pack doctor. A witch doctor.” “Like a voodoo doctor?” “No silly. A doctor who knows about werewolves and witches. And about them having babies together. What if she is only a witch, or only werewolf, or both? Can that happen?” “I don't know, mi amor. But you are right. We need to see a doctor that can give us answers. I’ll ask Sam and the doctor tomorrow to help us find a good one. Ok?” “Ok.” I adjusted myself to where I was now laying with my head on his chest and my arm around his waist. He had his arm around me too. We both drifted to sleep like this.
