Dom’s POV
“Josie?” I whispered. But felt like I yelled.
“I’m here.” She told me, grabbing and squeezing my hand slightly.
“The Rogues are coming.” I coughed out. “War.”
“Don’t talk. I’ll get you some water.” she whispered. I didn’t let go of her hand. “It’s ok Dom.”
I looked to my other side where Gio was sleeping. I smiled.
“He hasn’t left your side.” Josie said. “He was so worried about you. He has barely ate or slept this whole time.”
“How long have I been out?” I asked.
Josie looked like she didn’t want to tell me, but then said, “4 days.”
“What?” I said. Now I know why she didn’t wanna tell me. She knew I’d freak.
“Hey, But you’re ok now, right?” she asked, double checking.
“Ya. I feel fine. I’m a little stiff from being in bed for 4 days, but other than that I'm good.” I told her.
“Ok. I’ll have Sam call the doctor to check you again.” She smiled and left the room.
I looked at Gio again. He was still sleeping. He’s so handsome. Josie said he hasn’t left my side. Does he really care for me that much? I moved a strand of hair out of his face. Touching his face lightly with my fingers and I felt the electricity. He must have felt it too because he moaned and moved a little closer to me. That moan made me moan myself. He must have heard me and woke up.
He wrapped his arm over me. "Mi amor you're awake." He said with passion in his eyes
"Thank you for staying by my side." I smiled down at him.
He adjusted himself on the bed so that we were eye to eye. "I would die for you and do whatever I could to protect you, my love." He said then put his soft juicy lips against mine. I felt electricity flow through my body. It was so sweet and flirtatious, yet passionate. I couldn't help myself. I grabbed a handful of his hair and pulled him closer into a deeper kiss. We both moaned with excitement. Just then Josie walked in with Sam and the doctor.
"I would give her a full bill of health." The doctor joked after seeing us.
We all chuckled. Gio and my faces were blushed with embarrassment.
He checked me anyways and said I was fine, but to take it easy for a day or two.
Afterwards, everyone left except Gio. He wanted to get back to what we were doing before we were interrupted. But I stopped him before things got heated again. I told him what I had told Josie before about my vision of the Rogues and the war coming.
"I think we only have two months." I told him. I started going into details of the vision. "In my vision, the full moon rose and set twice. Then there was a raging fire and the Rogues jumping out of it. I saw wolves fighting. In the aftermath we had many losses because of the surprise attack. But I know how to beat them now. I also saw my foster mom, Jen, at our house dead on the floor because of them. We have to send for her now so that they can't find her." I told him.
He kissed my forehead and told me, "I'll see to it myself. Get some rest. I'm gonna talk with Sam and Josie."
"Ok." I said as he walked out. I'll keep the last part to myself for now. I know everyone would protest if they knew I have to die for them to live.
The next day
I got out of bed and started a hot bath. My body felt sore from the bed. I got in and relaxed my head on the back of the tub. I put a washcloth over my eyes. I tried recalling every small detail of my vision that I could. All I know is I have to find the Rogue Alpha first to save everyone.
I lost time and my train of thought. By the time I realized my skin looked like prunes. I got out of the tub, dried off and got dressed. I brushed my hair and put it in a high bun. I went downstairs to the kitchen. Josie was here. Making food?
"What are you doing? Trying to burn down the house." I joshed.
"Ha ha. Funny. I wanted to make you something to eat." She said.
“Thanks Josie, but you don't have to do that. And YOU shouldn't. Stick to cereal babe. You can't kill anyone that way.” I joked.
“Well, I can definitely see you're back to normal.” Josie said, rolling her eyes.
I salvaged what I could of the food and got two bowls of cereal for us. When we were done eating we went over to the Alpha house.
Sam and Gio were in the office. We walked in and sat down in front of his desk.
“Have you found out any information about the Rogues?" I asked them.
Sam answered, “Yes, we believe we've found the pack. Not much is known about them or their Alpha. Only that they have around 100+ Warriors. And growing.”
“OK. And what are you doing about it?” I asked.
"We're working on it. Our warriors are strong and many. I've asked a few ally packs to help also."
"Ok. Josie and I need to train." I told them, looking at Josie. Then turned to Gio and asked, "Did you do what we talked about yesterday?"
"Yes. She'll be here tomorrow." He answered.
"Thank you." I sighed. One less thing to worry about.
Josie and I left to head towards the training field. “What did you ask Giovanni to do?” she asked.
“To bring Jen here with us,” I told her.
“Why?”
“So she’ll be safe.”
“From what?”
“The rogues. I didn’t get to tell you all of my vision, but in it Jen was dead at home on the floor. So, to make sure that that doesn't happen, I asked Gio to send for her.” I finished, as we were arriving at a shed nearby.
We went into the shed for her to shift into her wolf. I changed the color of her fur to brown like before. We trained the rest of the day.
When we got back to the house we saw a car that we recognized all too well. Jen was here.
Josie and I ran into the Alpha House to look for her. When we got into the house we yelled for her, "Jen!"
"Girls!" She called from the kitchen.
We ran in there as fast as we could. She was at the table with Sam, Gio, the doctor and Vera. She stood up and ran to us. We all hugged for a minute.
"Are you ok? They told me that Dom was asleep for days. Why didn't you tell me about all of this? Do you girls not trust me?" She asked with tears in her eyes.
"We're sorry." We both said.
"What all did they tell you?" I asked Jen.
“Only that…,” she hugged Josie, “you are a very special werewolf. And that…,” she came and hugged me, “you are a very special witch.” Looking at both of us she says, “I’m hurt that you girls think so little of me, that you felt you couldn’t come to me.”
“It’s not that we think little of you or that we don’t trust you, Jen. We just wanted to protect you from whatever would happen later on.” Josie explained.
“You know we love you like a mother,” I told her, with tears in my eyes.
Jen pulled us into a big bear hug. We all wiped away any tears on our faces and turned toward the dining room table. We walked over and sat down.
Josie then started explaining to Jen about how Sam was her mate and that he’s the Alpha. And what all that meant. Then she wanted to tell her about Gio and I.
“Stop right there,” I told Josie. “Don’t put me in there with that werewolf stuff. I don’t even know if I totally believe in this Mate stuff.”
I heard Gio kind of whimper when I said that. I looked over at him. He had his head down. Then he stood up.
“It was nice to meet you Jen. Please excuse me,” Gio said, as he walked out of the dining room.
“Sorry guys,” I told everyone as I went after Giovanni.
“Giovanni,” I called out to him, “Please wait.” I cough up to him outside on the front porch. “I’m sorry Gio. I only said how I feel. I never said that I didn’t have feelings for you. I really like you.”
“I love you,” he passionately said back. “What do you feel when I touch your hand?” He asked, as he grabbed my hand.
“I don’t know. I feel little waves of electricity all over my hand and arm,”
“And when I hold you close to me?” He pulled me into him. His arm around my waist.
“I feel that wave all over my body and a warmth that makes me so calm.”
“And when I kiss you?” He lifted my chin up and he passionately placed his lips on mine.
I stood on my toes as those waves of electricity went through me. I couldn’t stop myself from kissing him back with the same passion. I wrapped my arms around his neck as he grabbed my hips and lifted me up. I wrapped my legs around his waist. He handled my bum in his hands to help keep me up. The kiss was so slow at first and only got more passionate. He moved one hand up my back and scratched down the middle softly with his nails. I moaned as I threw my head back at the feeling. Which only made him scratch me again. I moaned again. I lost control after that. I grabbed two fists full of his beautiful long black hair and pulled him into my lips. Our lips moved in sync.
Gio broke away, “Mate with me Dom. I love you. I will always love you and protect you,” he pleaded.
I looked into his eyes. He must have been fighting hard with his wolf. His eyes were changing colors. “Yes,” I smiled.
He smiled so big when I told him that. He set me down only to pick me back up bridal style and ran to his room as fast as he could.
