We went into the kitchen and found Jen making the sandwiches. It did cheer me up a little to see Jen and sandwiches. I was hungry.

I magiced 4 glasses to the island while I grabbed the milk. I poured a glass for Jen, Josie, Vera and myself. The boys can get their own. I put the milk back. Josie and Jen had the plates with sandwiches, so I got the glasses of milk. With a snap of my fingers, the glasses were at the table.

“This is lovely. I miss this. Doing things like this with you girls.” Jen said, smiling and looking at us girls.

“This is nice. I never had any daughters,” Vera said, “But I always wanted one. Sam’s dad and I never got the chance to have more kids. But, now that Josie is here I can have grandbabies.”

Josie about choked on her milk when she heard that.

I chuckled at both Vera and Josie. I think Jen was happy about both things. Having grandbabies and the fact that Josie probably wasn’t ready for that.

“Please, let’s not have the baby talk just yet,” Josie pleaded.

“Ya, she’s still young.” I joked. “She still needed the birds and the bees talk.” I laughed.

“Really Dom?” Josie huffed.

“I’m joking. Hey, be happy, I’m happy right now. After what Gio said to me earlier. I could have hurt someone. Who does he think he is, telling me that Josie and I have to run and hide with the other women and children.”

“What?!” all three said at once.

“Why would he say that? You’re one of the strongest fighters we have,” Josie argued.

Vera cut in, “He said it because he loves you and he doesn’t want you two to get hurt. He’s trying to protect you. And I think you know that’s why.”

“Dang it Mama V. Why do you always have to be right?” I huffed while chomping off a bite of my sandwich.

Vera laughed, “With age, comes wisdom. And caring for a pack of werewolves.”

We all giggled and finished eating. Just then, Sam came in and asked me if I would go meet Gio outside in the garden. I told him no, but everyone was pushing me to go. So, I went out to the garden. I seen Gio over by the pond with his back turned to me. I walked towards him. As I neared, Gio turned around with a big bouquet of flowers that he had picked from the garden. I bit my lip so I wouldn’t smile.

“I’m sorry, mi amor.” He cried.

Dang it. Why does he have to be so cute? I raised my nose in the air, “You think this makes it all better?”

“No, mi amor. But I am sorry for earlier in the office. You are a great fighter, but I want you to be safe and for you to help keep the others safe. I love you.”

Dang it again. I couldn’t fight it anymore.

“I love you too.” I told him as I took the flowers and gave him a hug.

He lifted me up and spun me around like he always does. I love when he does that. And I think he knows it.

“I’m still not running and hiding, Gio. I have to kill the alpha for it to end.”

“Let’s not talk about that raggedy old alpha right now.” Gio said, with disgust.

I nodded.

Gio, Sam, Josie and I went to train for the rest of the day.

Giovanni’s POV

After training, Dom and I went home and ate dinner. I made us chicken with a penne pasta. Red wine to drink.

While eating, all I could do was look at my beautiful mate. How she ate with such pous and drank so elegantly. She was my queen. Mi amor.

Dom looked at me, “What are you looking at? Do I have something on my face?”

“No, mi amor. Your face is beautiful,” I smiled at her.

She smiled back at me. We finished up and headed upstairs to shower. I was getting hard just thinking about showering with her. Having her naked body in front of me. Dom came into the bathroom after the water was on.

"You have to get to the rogue alpha before he gets to her to save them." She told me.

"What do you mean? Save who?" I asked.

"Your new family. She’ll need your help with her," She said and she was gone.

I woke up in a cold sweat. Breathing heavily. What was that? What did she mean by 'My new family?' Did she mean Dom, Josie and Jen? My mind was going a million miles an hour. I tried to get cozier with Dom in my arms. I kissed her forehead and eventually fell back to sleep.
