Chapter 6

Samuel’s House Once at Sam's huge Alpha house, we got the tour. Walking into the foyer, there was a tall ceiling with a beautiful chandelier hanging from it. The natural hardwood floors reached to the back door 30ft in front of us and through the whole first floor of the house. They beamed with the sun reflecting off them. The marble stairs started to the right of us, curving up the wall to a second floor balcony that came back towards the front door. The balcony and stairs almost made a U shape. There were four bedrooms and an office upstairs. Each with its own bathroom and walk-in closets. To the left was a living/family room. It was huge. You could fit mine and Josie’s bedrooms in it. It had a fireplace with two chairs and a small table in front of it. There were three sofas and two more chairs for a total of three sitting areas in this one room. To the right of the back door was the kitchen and dining room. They were big too. In the dining room, there was another chandelier hanging over a long hickory wood table that sat 10-12 people. In the kitchen, there was a breathtaking island that was specially done with lights and a small sink. Along the three walls were beautiful counter tops with back splash, cabinets, three stoves, two refrigerators, a freezer, a door that led to a wall-in pantry, a dishwasher and two more sinks. Outside there was a rectangular pool the size of the living room with a 30 foot gazebo by it on the left. A radiantly colored flower garden with a stone walkway on the right. It also had a little pond in the far corner with fish and a rocky waterfall. This house was amazingly breathtaking inside and out. I was totally jealous. Once done with the tour, we went back into the kitchen where Sam's mother was waiting with dinner. We introduced ourselves, since we hadn’t seen her on the tour. We all sat down and ate. The food was delicious. Luna Vera was just how Gio described her. Kind with a warm-hearted smile. When everyone was done, we went outside and sat under the gazebo for about an hour before calling it a night. The boys took our bags upstairs to the room we’ll be staying in. Sam led the way. Josie and I are staying in the same room. I don’t trust the boys just yet. We changed into our nightgowns and got into bed. We were out in minutes. The next day Josie and I got up and got ready. Today the boys wanted to take us out. We took a short tour of the land. Giovanni's house was next door which was just as big and beautiful as Sam's. We got to meet some other pack members on the tour. They had their own little town. They had a doctor and dentist, a gas station, a few little restaurants, couple of parks for the kids and a few stores. It was nice, I have to admit. It felt peaceful. Everyone was so nice and respectful. We saw a mixture of the pack in wolf form and human form. Once back at the house, Josie asked me, “What do you think about staying here.... Forever?” I told her I didn't know even though I thought the place was beautiful. Jen would miss us and we planned on going to college near home. “We can find a place near here,'' she said. “I'm sure they have the same school courses as back home.” “I'll have to sleep on it,'' I told her. Just then Sam and Gio asked if we wanted to go for a run. Josie said yes, so of course I went too. We went to an area that was specially for changing into wolf form, with lockers for their clothes. I waited for them and then I changed Josie’s fur color again so no one would know about her. I got on to Giovanni's back and we went into the forest behind the houses. We went down to a lake not too far from the town but was still on their land. It was beautiful with the sun setting behind the tall tree line on the other side of the lake. I did some water tricks that I had learned. We stayed until the sky turned black with the stars and the Moon shining bright. And then headed back to their clothes and then to the Alpha house. Giovanni had suggested that I stay with him at his house but I told him no. So he decided he would stay with us at the Alpha House. Sometimes he acts like a little lost puppy, he doesn't want to leave my side. I have to confess, it's adorable. But not to him just yet. A girl has to play hard to get sometimes. Josie and I changed and got tucked into bed. “What do you think tomorrow will be like?” Josie asked. “Do you think it'll be like today?” “I don't know, Joz'' I replied. And with that we went to sleep. The next day Josie and I woke up, got ready and went downstairs. I could hear Gio singing in the kitchen, just like at the cabin. A flashback of that morning came to me. A smile came over me too. Then all of a sudden I remembered how he was dressed that morning at the cabin, as we were walking into the kitchen. Before I could grab Josie's arm to stop her we were already in the kitchen. That's when we seen Giovanni cooking in his boxers. I covered mine and Josie's eyes and said, “Whoa! Dude get some clothes on!” He came over to me with a sad puppy dog look and said “Why are you always yelling at me? Why aren't you yelling at him?” I saw Josie turn around and her face get bright red and cover her eyes. I turned around only to find Samuel standing there in his boxers. I covered my eyes,“Dude, does nobody wear clothes around this house?” I asked. “I always do.” Luna Vera said as she came up from behind Sam. “Boys, what have I told you about wearing just your panties around the house?” She joked. The boys lit up like tomatoes and both said “They're not panties, they're boxers.” And went upstairs to change. Josie and I died laughing. “Well, at least someone made breakfast for us before they ran to put some clothes on.” Vera laughed. This woman was hilarious. I liked her. I could tell Josie did too. The boys later joined us outside under the gazebo for breakfast. We ate and laughed some more. Then decided to have a pool party today since Sam and Gio would have to go back to work tomorrow. I don't know how, but within 45 minutes people were pouring in the front door. He didn’t even use his phone. We had already changed before people got there. Thankfully. Josie and I both stood by the boys while everyone walked by and greeted us. Everytime someone would come up to us they would be like: "Hello Alpha and Beta. Good morning. How are you?" Sam and Gio would reply, "Good. Thanks. These are our Mates, Joselynn and Dominique." Josie and I would just smile and say "Hello. Nice to meet you." Until it happened, two chicks came running up towards us. Both of them were tall and skinny, like bean poles with light brown hair. One ran up to Sam and the other up to Gio and flung their scrawny little arms around their necks and hugged them tight. Whining how they missed them the past couple of days. Josie and I looked at each other then looked at them with our arms crossed and dirty looks on our faces. The boys grabbed the girls and got them off of them. Better them than us in that moment. I’m sure the boys could see fire in our eyes. They then introduced us to the girls. They told them that we were their mates. Amanda and Ashley were their names. The girls had sad dirty looks on their faces. Josie and I had huge smiles on ours. Especially when the boys said ‘Mates.’ We grabbed our men around the waist and pulled them in tight to make the bean poles even more jealous. Needless to say, Josie and I didn't leave the boys's sides the rest of the day. Not until everyone had left for the evening. Then they got an ear full. We sat them down outside and stood in front of them. “Who were those girls today?” Josie and I said in unison. The boys laughed. “No one. Just a couple of girls we went to school with. You ladies have nothing to be jealous about.” Sam says, trying to reinsure us. “I’m not jealous. Why would I be jealous of a bean pole?” I asked. Giovanni stood up and cooed in my ear, “You're adorable when you're mad and jealous.” I rolled my eyes and pushed him away. “Why are you always playing?” Sam stood up by Gio. They both said, “You are our Mates. We love and respect you.” like as if it were rehearsed. I grabbed Josie’s arm. “We’re going to bed.” I yelled back as I stomped off dragging Josie with me. When we got up to the room. “Dom, can we talk?” “Not now Josie. I already know what you’re going to say.” Sigh! “Just let me sleep on it. Ok?” “Ok Dom. Good night.” “Night.” I said I’d sleep on it, but I can’t sleep. I felt bad for yelling at her and dragging her up here to bed. I was mad because I was jealous and I didn’t know why. So much was going on in my head. I couldn't think straight. I slowly got out of bed and went downstairs to the kitchen. To my surprise, Luna Vera was already in the kitchen with a cup of tea. “Sorry, I didn’t know anyone was up.” I said. “It’s ok, my child. Can’t sleep either?” “No ma’am. Too much going on in my head.” “Come, sit. Tell me what’s wrong.” She pushed out a chair beside her. I walked over and sat down. “I don’t know. I can’t think straight. It’s this Mate stuff. Being jealous over someone. I never get jealous. And I know Josie wants to stay and wants me to stay with her, but I just don’t know.” “Have you ever loved anyone?” She asked. “I love Josie, my foster mom, Jen. My dead grandma too.” “Anyone else?” “No.” “Have you tried?” “Not really… I've never had anyone special in my life other than them.” My heart sung into my chest. “So, you think I have a wall up and I won’t let Giovanni in because I don’t wanna get hurt. And that I’m jealous because I actually care about him. Maybe even love him. But how can I love someone so abnochis and annoyingly cute. Who likes to sing and dance in the morning in their panties?” I laughed at the end. Luna Vera smiled, “I didn’t say a thing. You did.” She said with a wink. I chuckled. I like her. “Thanks ma’am.” “Anytime my dear.” I went back upstairs and went to sleep.
