Jade’s eyes flew open as she gasped for air.
“Jade!”
Rough warm hands grasped hers.
She looked at the hands covering hers, then looked up the arms to find the faces that were around her.
Four familiar handsome faces circled her bed leaning over her with concern in their faces.
Momentarily she thought she was dreaming and that leaving him had been all in her head and past dreams.
She squeezed her eyes shut, trying to collect her composure and memories. In seconds everything came back.
Around her were the men that had pledged commitment to her, and she to them. They had cared for her these past weeks. They had helped her through her night terrors, then bringing her ecstasy in the night instead.
It was just a nightmare she just had.
She’s no longer in Lance’s clutches.
And instead in the warm embraces of these men.
She opened her eyes and smiled at them.
“Hey.” She said, tears of relief and happiness filling her eyes.
The guys exclaimed then crowded her trying to embrace her and give her kisses on her face.
Jade was a little startled, but not at all disliking their affection.
“Geez. Maybe I should just get surgery more often,” She chuckled. “Why are all of you here? I thought Emmett was the only one who was off work?” She asked.
“Jade, it’s eight in the evening. Your surgery was hours ago.” Jake said.
“What?” She asked flatly. “What happened?”
“There were complications during the surgery. They got your hand repaired. But you reacted to the anesthesia. You kept coming to consciousness during the procedure.”
“Whoa.” She breathed.
“Jade. Do you remember anything?” Emmett asked.
“Uhm.” She paused to think.
“Nope. Nadda.”
The men breathed a sigh of relief.
“We’re so glad you’re okay.” Adam said giving her an affectionate kiss on her forehead.
“I’m so lucky to have you.” She sighed as they hugged her again.
