Under The Starry Sky

Chapter 2

" One, two, three four! One, two, three, four! Stay focused Stella! You got this!" David yells as I finish my daily training. It's been four years since my brother was killed. I've been training six days a week since. I want to be ready when I face the bastard who murdered him. I will get justice.

My parents don't want me fighting with the pack warriors but I'm too stubborn to listen. They weren't there that night. When I told them and the Alpha what happened; they were devastated. Our Alpha, Nicholas Harrison, started making the warriors train harder. Luckily he let me train with them. I'm one of the best warriors here.

I have worked my ass off these past four years. In a few days I'll turn 18 and I'll get my wolf. Then I can start training in my wolf form.

"STELLA!!!!

A tall, curvy red-head walks across the gym towards me. It's my best friend Lily. We have known each other since we were three years old. We met in day-care. Our moms would drop us off before heading out to do their pack duties. Lilly's mom is the pack doctor and my mom is the female Beta.

"Are you ready for this weekend? I definitely am. I heard that EVERYONE is invited. They hope more people will find their mates. I can't wait to find mine!" Lilly stared off dreamily.

I rolled my eyes.

" You know how I feel about the whole mate thing. I couldn't care less."

" Oh, come on. It's been four years. I had hope that you would have changed your mind by now. Maybe you will when you finally meet him." Lilly looked hopefully at me.

She knows what happened and how I feel. I do not know why she just doesn't give up. I'm a lost cause. I don't care about finding my mate.....if I have one at all. All I care about is getting my revenge against the Black Water Alpha

I have not heard anything about him or his pack since the night he killed my brother. It's like the Black Water Pack disappeared off the face of the Earth. It worries me and I know it worries my Alpha.

" Let's go get some food. I'm starving! Please!" said Lilly as she gave my her big puppy eyes.

" Fine. Just help me clean these weights and matts up. Where do you want to go?"

" How about Lucy's diner? I'm craving a double cheeseburger and chili fries."

I roll my eyes " That's fine but you're paying. It's your turn anyways. I paid last time" I stuck my tongue out at her

"Ok. Don't roll your eyes too much. They will get stuck like that." She laughed at me " Race you to my car. Last one in is a rotten egg!"

We race to her car. She got it when she turned 16. Her parents spoiled her since she is an only child. They went big and get her a baby blue Porsche.

It only takes us about 10 minutes to get to Lucy's diner. It's our favorite place to eat on pack territory. Everyone eats here. Lucy's has been around since the beginning of the founding of Blue Forrest Pack. The owner makes the best burgers I've ever eaten.

We pull into a parking spot and go inside. Luckily our favorite booth is unoccupied. As soon as we sit down a waitress comes over to take our order.

" What will it be loves?"

" Two bacon double cheeseburgers, Two chili fries, and two cokes please!" We always get the exact same thing.

"ok loves, I'll put the order in. It will be 'bout ten minutes."

"Thank You!"

Lilly waits until she leaves and asked "So I was wondering if you would want to go shopping with me tomorrow. We could both use a new outfit for your birthday party this weekend."

" I guess. What time do you want to go? I've got training at seven in the morning."

" Aw. Could you skip training? We could make our shopping trip a whole day thing. It's been forever since we have had a girls day. Pretty please!" She brings out the puppy dog eyes again.

" Fine. But I won't wear a dress to my party so don't even ask".

"YAY! I can so work with that. We are going to have so much fun! I'm excited!"

The waitress brings us our food and we scarf

it down. It's so good! I'm gonna be so full I'll go to sleep as soon as I get home.

Lilly gets up "I'll go pay and we can head out. I'll drop you off at home."

"Ok. I'll meet you outside at the car."

I'm waiting for Lilly and suddenly I feel like I'm being watched. I try to unsuspiciously look around but I don't see anyone around. All I see is empty parked cars. Maybe I'm just paranoid.

" Are you okay Stella?" Lilly asked

"Yeah. I just felt like I was being watched."

"Huh. Let's go. You are probably exhausted from training and just need some sleep"

" You are probably right. I just need to shower and go to bed." I still have a gut feeling I was being watched.

I get home and nobody else is home so I head upstairs to my room. I grab my pajamas and a towel.

After a nice hot shower, I go lay down. Tomorrow is going to be a long day. I love my best friend but I don't like shopping.
