The beginning.
All those stories we heard of, all those which have been branded as supernatural and myth, let me tell you, they are all true.
Somewhere out there are communities hiding in plain sight, yet undiscovered by humans.
We all know that the safest way to live is being hidden, otherwise the truth would be to devastating and frightening and we know what fear does to humans.
In one of these communities live a 17 year old girl, who has been leaving her school late in the afternoon after whole day of exams.
She walks slowly yet confidently, her curly ginger hair is falling down on her back, until it almost reaches her butt and her blue eyes which looks like an ocean, are searching frantically all over the parking. Her lips curl in the smile when she finds what shes been looking for, and walks faster to get to her best friend.
“Hi Ava! “ I shouted.
“Hey Aila! “She shouts back.
“ I have been looking for you everywhere. Math gave me anxiety again, even tho I know the answers I have been rushing and I’m sure I will have mistakes again. “ I pouted.
“You know as well as I do, you always do this, stress out about everything and at the end its all good. And I did very well to be honest, I don think I made a mistake. “ she laughed.
“Lets just get out of here, my brain cannot take more thinking for today” I smiled.
“ I agree! She shouted.
We both got into my car and just drove back home. It wasn’t a long ride, maybe 20 minutes.
We both lived in the same community, and both lived under one roof.
Ava’s mom and dad were away on business trip, they own their own company and that require for them sometimes to travel so for the time being until her parents are back Ava and her brother Jacob are staying with us. Her brother is only 15, Ava is 2 days older then I am, which is funny cause I act more mature sometimes then her. But she loves to pull it out for me that she is older then I am and I should listen to my elders. Ha! Like that would ever happen. I chuckled to myself.
I am one of those stubborn, hardheaded teenagers who do not like to listen to others nor take advice, which in some instances weren’t so beneficial.
But I am learning from my mistakes and trying to listen here and there.
Finally arriving home, we both grabbed our backpacks and heading inside. .
We do not have the most luxurious house, but it feels like a home for sure.
“We are home!” I shouted.
My mom came out the kitchen and gave both of us a massive hug, we do need it after the whole day of brainstorming and thinking, we are just exhausted.
“ So, how did you girls do?” She asked.
“Wasn’t that hard for me” Ava said.
“I was stressed out again” I sighed.
My mom chuckles and just walks back to the kitchen.
“ Come both of you, I made some homemade cheesecake for you two! “ she shouts from the kitchen.
“Yes!” We both shout and I punch a fist in the air.
“Thanks mom! “ I say.
“ Thank you Mrs. Bayford. “ Ava said.
We both run after her to the kitchen, sit down to the table and start eating.
The cheesecake feels heavenly after the long day we had.
Suddenly there is a commotion outside and shouting, getting louder by the second.
My mom freezes for a second then start clutching her chest and starts sobbing.
I jump right up with Ava and run to her, and catch her before she fell.
“Mom! What happened? Is it dad? “ I asked.
She looked at me with tears in her eyes and said: “No sweetheart, its your auntie Barbara. She was found dead. Your father just mind-linked me saying they found her body by the north borders of our pack. “
