Jace stares at me as I disconnect the call with Jules, I can see the tension in his features.
“Are you sure it’s a good idea to tell him right now?” His words are the same as I’ve been thinking, but I nod.
“Yeah. It’s the only thing we can do. What else is there? We can go back to the lair, but then what? How are we going to test that it really is Tyler in there?” But it doesn’t stop the tension growing inside me.
“I don’t know. I just...” He shakes his head.
We’re still on the bus back to the hospital, the thing moving way too slowly for our tastes right now.
“I just don’t know what else to do.” He lets out a breath. “I guess I’m just scared.”
I reach out for him, put my arm around his shoulders. “Yeah. You’re not the only one.” I’m really scared that this will all go wrong
