CHAPTER FOURTEENThat night, Lumina asked the moonlight to help her enter the general’s dreams. She flew to Swanshore, where General Tullica was asleep on his bed beneath a heavy white blanket. She flew through the dark, viscous layers of his mind until her movement became easier and she saw a ball of light beneath her. She descended into it, looking around for the general’s dream form. She was in the interrogation room in the Bucansian border keep. He was sitting in the chamber opposite a dream version of Lumina, who was telling him about how much she and the rebels respected General Tullica and how they were both enemies of her father.
