Chapter 18, Searching For The Luna

2422 Words
(Steven's pov) I stood in the cabin waiting for Jack to arrive but my patience was growing thin. Everyone waited outside for my next orders because their being in here with me will only put them in jeopardy. I knew I should have stayed. Why did I have to go? “s**t”. I slammed my fist on the table, forcing it to crumble to the ground. The door opened behind me but I was too focused to even turn around. “Alpha?” Two voices rang in my ears. The owners of the voices stepped in front of me. Jack and Roman. “What do I need to do?” Jack asked, eager to help me as much as possible. “I need something. ANYTHING that could tell you who took her or where they are”. “Yes, Alpha”. He took it without another word from me. “Roman. I need you to call the red Golden wolf pack. I need their help too”. “Gotcha”. He took off out of the cabin... I could barely hold on to my sanity right now. I was a ticking time bomb ready to explode. Every minute that had passed started to feel like hours. I needed some answers. “What’s going on? What happened?” the yelling and screaming caught my attention. I turned around to see Eva running into the cabin. Her face was red with anger as tears struggled not to fall from her eyes. “Someone took her”. It pained me to say it, “Who Steven?” she questioned. “I DON’T KNOW”. I snapped. I couldn’t hold on much longer. I was ready to crack. I was ready to break down however I needed to stay strong for my pack and my mate. “AlPHA?” Roman ran through the door. “What?” “You may want to get out there. Jack found something”. I ran out of the cabin. To my surprise, some of the Red Golden wolf packs were already present. I nodded to them in appreciation for their presence and ran to find Jack. Jack was kneeling down by something. It was a white little slipper that gave off the scent of my mate. “They were on foot”, Jack reassured Roman and me. “That will make it easier to pick up her scent”. Jack shifted into his wolf and sniffed the slipper. She and the rouge’s scent familiarized him, he was able to get a good idea of which way they went. Follow me Jack urged... (Blossom’s pov) I’ve been here for hours and I was nearly in tears thinking about Steven. I missed him and I prayed that he was safe. I was tired and hungry and I had to go to the bathroom badly. I was exhausted. I wanted to go to sleep but there was no way in hell I was lying on this old mangled mattress. I rested my head against the wall. My eyes were growing heavy and all I wanted to do was close them. The door to the room creaked open and in walked a guy. He looked to be younger than the rest of them. He had black low-cut hair, tanned skin, and hazel eyes. “Hi, can I get you something?” He whispered, his eyes shifty as if he was up to something. I just looked at him. Why was he trying to be nice? What was this fucker up to? “NO!” I became defensive. An apologetic and sad look crossed his face. I almost felt bad for speaking to him that's why. Why was I such a sucker for feeling bad? “Okay”. His voice sounded a little upset, almost disappointed. He turned around to leave the room. “Wait”, I called out. To be honest, I did need something. “I need to use the bathroom”. He nodded his head in understanding and reached for me. I pulled back from his extended hand, forcing him to step back in surprise. “I’m sorry. I just wanted to get you up”. I nodded my head slowly and extended my arms for him to proceed. He unlatched the chain that was holding me bonded to the wall and unlatched the cuffs from around my ankles. “What about these?” I asked, holding up my arms to expose the handcuffs. “I can’t”. An apologetic look crossed his lips. I didn’t want to push my luck. I”m lucky I was even going to the bathroom right now. He pulled me to my feet. He escorted me out of the room and down the hall to a small bathroom. “I will wait out here. Okay?” “Okay”. I gave a half-smile as I closed the door. I used the bathroom and washed my hands. I looked at myself in the mirror. I looked so awful right now. Well, I should on account of the crazy-ass situation I was in. I splashed a little water on my face, shook my head, and walked out the door. “May I ask? What is your mane?” I asked the boy as he escorted me back down the hall. “Felix”. We walked back into the room. As we walked in, I noticed that the old mattress was covered in a clean white linen sheet and there was a pair of sweatpants and a tank top on top of the mattress. “I noticed how unsanitary that mattress was and wanted to fix it. Well at least try. Also, I know you were uncomfortable having that robe on so I found some old clothing too”. I looked at him. He looked away. “Thank you so much”. I was actually really curious as to why he was being so...nice. “No problem. I’ll unlatch your cuffs so you can put your clothes on”. He removed the tight cuffs and stepped out of the room. Staring at the closing door, I rubbed my sore wrist, wondering why he was being so odd. Strange. In a hurry, I quickly removed my robe and tossed it on the clothes. Luckily, they fit me just right and I was able to feel a little more comfortable now. The door opened and Felix walked back in. “They fit”, I confirmed. “Yea, luckily”. His smile vanished and was replaced with sadness. “I have to put the cuffs back on”. I know. He slipped the cuffs around my wrist and chained them back to the wall. He left my ankles free for me to be able to move a little better. He gave me a half-smile as he proceeded to leave. “Felix?” He turned to look at me. “I’m Blossom by the way. And thank you”. He gave me a small smile as he left the room. Standing in a daisy-filled meadow, all I wanted to do was bask in it. The warm sun shined on me, brightening my pink sundress. I inhaled the sweet smell of flowers and clean air, adoring the cool breeze that blew through my hair. Suddenly I was in the middle of wolves. On one side was a line of wolves that look so familiar. Steven. On the other side werewolves, I have never seen before. They didn’t look too familiar or friendly. They all looked so angry, growling and exposing their teeth to one another in intimidation. And here I was. Standing in the middle. My fear was keeping me from running, from moving, from screaming. Suddenly they all charged toward each other. The sound of their paws pounding against the ground, and the sound of growls rung in my ears. I dropped to my knees and closed my eyes. Growls and snarls were all I could hear. Tears ran down my face as I struggled to catch my breath. Then it all stopped. The growls, the whimpering, it all stopped. Finally, silence. All I could hear is the wind blowing past my ears and my heavy breathing. I open my eyes. My heart was racing again. Blood. I was surrounded by a pool of blood. I looked at myself. My hands, my arms, and my dress were all covered in blood. But whose blood? Where is my Steven? Where is Steven? “Hey? Hey?” I opened my eyes in fear, surrounded by complete and utter darkness. “No, no”, I screamed. “Blossom?” Someone was shaking me, waking me from the horror. I looked up to see Felix kneeling in front of me. “Are you okay?” he asked. “I-I don’t know”. Tears began to fill my eyes. Felix sat down in a chair across from me and watched me. I looked at him. “I-I brought you something to eat”. He pulled out a bag, a bag that I know too well. McDonald’s “Thank you”. I grabbed the McNuggets from him and placed them on my lap. Honestly, I wasn’t even hungry anymore. All I could do is think and wonder about Steven, the pack, and that horrible dream. Tears poured down my cheeks as I thought about never seeing my mate and my friends again and how he may feel if he lost a piece of his family. “No, no please don't cry”. Felix kneeled in front of me. “I’ll give you something different to eat”. I smiled at him. Even though he was associated with people who kidnapped me, he was different. “Felix?” “Yes?” “Why are you so nice?” I smiled. “Well, I was always taught to respect people who respect me. Especially women”. He smiled, “Who taught you that?” “My mother”. “Well, she is a wise woman”. I chuckled. “She was”. A flash of sadness crossed his face. But he held it back with a smile again. “May I ask, are you guys...rouges?” He let out a soft chuckle. “I wouldn’t consider myself a rogue. I would consider myself a solo wolf”. He kneeled toward me to whisper. “But those other assholes are rogues”. I smiled at him. He managed to make me laugh, even in the f****d up situation I was in. The steel door creaked open and Felix took a step back and stoop at attention. The man I saw yesterday, I believe his name was Drake, walked in, accompanied by a blond-haired woman. The woman was dressed in a black knee-length dress with black stilettos. “Why are you in here Felix?” Drake questioned Felix but his eyes were still locked on me. “I was just checking on her”. “GET OUT!” He roared. The woman stared at me, her eyes filled with hatred and evil. She scanned over my clothing then a look of anger crossed her face. “Are those my clothes?” she hissed. “I gave those to her”. Felix dropped his head. She staled over to Felix, her eyes burning with fury and hell. “How dare you?” she c****d her hand back and swiped it across his face, causing him to drop to the ground. I reached for him but was pulled back in restriction by the chains that were bonded to the wall. For some reason, I wanted to help him, I needed to help him. “LEAVE HIM ALONE!”. All eyes turned to me. A look of shock and curiosity crossed everyone's face. “Oooh, the Luna wants to protect the rogue?” A smile crossed the woman’s face. She walked over to Felix, shoving her knee into his stomach. “Stop it”. I couldn’t stand to watch this go on. “Sweetie”. She kneeled down in front of me. “He’s nothing but a filthy animal that deserves to be put down”. She was a sick b***h. I never would hurt anyone, but I would make an acceptance by jabbing a knife into her throat. “I’m Sophia”. I don't care. She gave me a devilish smile. “And welcome to our home. You are our special guest”. “Mmmm I guess I was given a forceful invite”. I shrugged. “You’re a tough girl aren’t you”, she smirked while looking me over. All I could do was give her a smile back. “Won't be so tough when you see your mate’s head on a stick”. My smile turned to an evil glare. How dare this b***h threaten my mate. I wanted her dead. “Why? What do you want from Steven?” “Well, he will be the key to running your pack. When he’s dead, my rogues will take over, destroying every pack here, yada, yada, yada. Then expand ours until, recruiting new rogues for domination of all packs, etcetera. Making us the largest pack in the world”. She gave me her plan. “Lady, go f**k yourself”. Her plan? I considered her plan pure bullshit. Impossible. A dream. “Watch your mouth”. She smacked her hand across my face. I yelped in pain as Felix released a growl in my defense. I mouthed the words I am okay to Felix. Keeping him from doing anything that would get him hurt. “So sit back and relax, because once your mate’s head is in my hands, you will be delivered to our associate”. Sophia and Drake left the room. They’re going to kill him. Who are they delivering me to? Fear was in the pit of my stomach, replaying the words the wicked witch gave me.
