I wake up in the morning with a bright smile on my face. I cannot wait to hang out with Alex. It’s going to be the first time that he’s going to be with us. I feel bad for him! I really hope that my friends don’t mind that I invited him!
I put Alex’s number in my phone last night. I also forgot to text him last night. I still can’t wait to see him. I keep reliving the kiss he gave me yesterday. My cheeks are burning already.
“Oh my goodness, I really hope this doesn’t happen at the mall,” I think to myself. I really don’t want my friends to assume that Alex and I are dating. It’s not like he likes me, right? I cannot tell with him at all. He is a tough cookie.
I send him a text around eleven to give him a heads up about our plans. Plus, I don’t know what time he wakes up. “Hey Alex, my friends and I are going to the mall around noon. Is that alright for you?”
He sent me a text back about five minutes later. “That’s alright with me. See you then.”
I smile and then go into my brother’s room. He’s already up and dressed. That’s pretty surprising since he normally goes to bed late on the weekends. Mace loves to play video games all hours of the night. I like video games too, but not as much as Mace does. My favorite games to play are Trauma Team and dance games. I can’t dance for my life. I wish I was better at it.
“Hey sis, what’s up? Want to play a game with me before we leave? We can play whatever you want to. I wasn’t in the mood to play video games last night.”
“That’s pretty weird for you!”
“Yeah, I know, but I wanted to get up early. Video games are addicting, sis.”
“Yes, they are,” I respond. My brother sets up the Wii so we can play. He puts Just Dance 2 on. We still didn’t get the third one yet. I don’t know if I want it or not.
We play a couple of rounds of before we stop. I don’t want to sweat too much. I showered about an hour ago. I put on one of my favorite scents after we finish playing.
My mother walks into my room. She has a huge smile on her face. “Sweetie, be careful while you’re driving since your brother will be in the car. I know you are a really careful driver, but this is the first time your brother has been in the car with you.”
“I know, Mom, but I will always be careful with Mason around. I don’t want him getting hurt or killed,” I respond while rolling my eyes a little. I love my little brother very much. He is the best brother a girl could ask for.
Mason and I leave the house around eleven-thirty. The mall is like only fifteen minutes away from my house. We may bet the first ones to arrive. Becky is always the last one to arrive. She is the mall child. I really hate shopping for clothes. I shop for books, movies, video games, etc.
While Mason and I are walking up to the mall entrance I spot Alex. He is standing near the front door with his arms crossed over his chest. He looks bored out of his mind. I wonder how long he’s been here.
“Hey Alex, how long have you been here?”
“A couple of minutes, but that’s alright,” he responds with a small smile. He looks over at Mason. “Who is this?”
“Hello, I’m Mason, I’m Aubrey’s little brother. It’s nice to meet you, sir,” Mace responds politely while holding onto me. Mason is shy around strangers a lot of the time.
“Hey, I’m Alex, you don’t have to call me, sir,” Alex said with a smile. He shakes Mason’s hand. I smile as well. I’m happy they are getting along already. Nicole shows up a few minutes later. She has a really huge smile on her face.
“Hey Mason, I didn’t know you were coming today little buddy. Hey Bre, what’s up? The game ended early,” Nikki exclaims. She finally notices Alex standing behind me and shoots me a look.
“This is my friend Alex. Alex, this is my best friend, Nicole,” I say while he shakes her hand and she smiles.
“Hello Alex, it’s nice to meet you.”
“Nice to meet you as well, Nicole,” Alex responds.
Ten minutes fly by before Jess and Becky show up. I’m glad they rode together. Alex introduces himself to them and we start shopping.
Of course, as soon as we start to have fun we see the love birds. They are probably here to cause me trouble.
“Hello, Alex, Nicole, Jess, Becky, Mason, and Aubrey,” the “wicked witch of the waste” says. I sigh. Why is she being nice to me? I h
“What do you want,” Alex responds growling a little bit. Oh boy, this isn’t going to be good.
“We are wondering if we could join your group,” Jonathan adds in. That is a really stupid question.
“How about, no,” we all exclaimed in unison. We don’t want those two idiots joining our group. None of us liked them. Nikki, Jess, and Becky hate Michelle as much as I do. She tried to make their lives miserable too. She’s only horrible to them because they are friends with me. Michelle never liked me. My friends don’t deserve the kind of treatment they get from her. Michelle is such a brat. I still didn’t understand what Jonathan sees in her. I can tell Alex hates her too.
“Please, we promise to not cause any trouble. We want to hang out with you all. It is nice to see other friends,” they both say. They look a little bit upset about it. I’m really glad that we are all in agreement.
“We aren’t even friends with you two. None of us like you. Please, go away,” I responded as politely as possible. They give up trying to hang out with us and walk away. I still can see they are pretty upset about it. Oh well, they can get over themselves. None of us want them to ruin our day. We have so much fun. Alex is getting along well with all my friends. The two love birds left us alone for the rest of the day. I didn’t think about the kiss Alex and I shared the whole day. I really don’t want my friends to find out about that one.
