Silver wolf

Alexis “Wait, How? I thought you guys like live forever or something,” I asked bewildered. I could see the pain in Derecks eyes and took his hand in mine to comfort him. “Well technically it’s a bit more complicated. As long as we shift every now and then we stop aging and are able to live for hundreds of years but we are not immortal. We can be killed if the injuries are severe enough and this is what happened to Andrew. We still don’t know how or better who did it. The whole pack felt his pain and we searched for him to assist our chief, but it was too late. We reached him and I saw his last breaths before he died and shifted back into his humanoid form. You know Andrew was a beautiful silver wolf and he had the most stunning fur. Sometimes he gave me some grooming tips for my tiger fur,” he chuckled as he thought about his mentor. “Silver wolf.. hmm interesting I had a confusing dream about a silver colored wolf just before you ran me over with your crappy car.” The whole dining room turned around and watched me with strange glances. Derecks’ jaw dropped as he stared at me. “Connor I think it is really her. It has to be her.” Then he squeezed my hands between his and continued, “I think Andrew knew that you are going to come here. He saw you in his visions. A coppery wolf with his ability. He said that after death the gifts are passed to the next generation. We all thought that we had hundreds of years before his vision would come true but then he died. The dream as you call it. It has to be a vision of Andrews death in the past, I am sure of it.” Before I could reply Dereck dragged me out of the dining room and walked me to a huge painting. “Is this the wolf that you saw in your vision?” I wanted to capture the beauty of the painting. The linework and the fine details caught my eyes and mesmerized me completely. “Yes, I think it was him.” “I still don’t get it why you have no mark and you really never got cursed?” “Nope, never.” “Mhhhm.. interesting, we need to get your mental barriers down so that Connor can find out what’s wrong with you. Follow me” He rushed to another wooden door and opened it for me. “Welcome to your personal boot camp. My name is Dereck and I will be your instructor for the next few weeks or as long as it takes to bring your little wolf out,” he smirked at me. I didn’t even have a sports suit but at least I wore an oversized hoody and some leggings. “What do you want me to do? Sit ups? Push ups?” “You need to learn how to fight and find inner piece to live in harmony with your spiritual animal,” was all he said before he threw me over his shoulder, and I hit the ground with a loud bang. “Ouch, the next time I want a warning in advance my dear instructor or I will kick your balls.” He grinned at me and stretched his hand out, as I reached for it he pulled back and said “No kicking balls for you missy if you cant catch me.” He shifted in front of my eyes and ran trough a side door to the outside sports ground. Fast on his heels I tried to follow him, but he increased the distance and purred at me before running into the woods.
