CHAPTER TWENTY NINE Even after several hours of sleep, Chloe decided not to tell Danielle about the basket of cookies and the letter. She’d disposed of the basket and cookies in the outside trashcan before retiring to bed, keeping only the letter. She read it once more as she woke up at six o’clock the following morning and then put it in the drawer of her bedside table. When she went out to put the coffee on, she was not at all surprised to find that Danielle was apparently still asleep.
