HANSEL… Three days had elapsed, yet the prince had not made any advances towards me again. Each minute, I stared at my palm, gazing at the blood tattoo that had been embedded there five years ago. Several times, I had tried to understand what that tattoo was all about, but I remembered nothing. And now, just the last three nights, seeing how he stared at that tattoo, and the questions he asked, made me a bit worried. I didn't know how to bring up the issue of this tattoo to him, and the fear that had grown in me towards him wouldn't even let me open my lips to speak. All day, I did nothing more than watch him. The way he speaks, how he rolls his eyes when confused, how he glares with no words when annoyed…it was as if I was studying him so well since today. I was done freshening up and set to take my dinner before looking up my next plans. All these nights hadn't been easier for me to sneak out of the palace like I planned, so I had decided to do that tonight, no matter what. Once I was done eating, I would sneak out about an hour later or more, but just at the time I wouldn't be seen. I sat on the bed with the table before me, humming while gobbling on the soup mushrooms, and rice that had been served to me, when a knock came on the door. My brows creased. I wasn't expecting anybody, not even Lord Aldric. “Who's that?” I asked, frowning. I just hoped it had nothing to do with the lycan prince, because I had no strength to leave to him now. For my safety, I had refused being served by female servants, or in fact, any gender. And Lord Aldric approved of it. I listened to hear the one at the door, but no one spoke, and that pissed me off the most. Even Lord Aldric would announce himself while at the door, so who the heck was that who found it difficult speaking? I dropped the spoon and sat up, heading towards the door, “Who's there?” As I reached, I heard her whisper, “It's me, Princess Chloe.” My blood froze. I stiffened at that spot. What was she doing here? I had tried my best to stay away from her, and the fact that the prince told me that he had cautioned her also made me feel a rest of mind. What could bring her here? I leaned on the door and responded, my chest thumping in my ears, “My Princess, is everything okay? Don't you think it's too late to be here?” “Are you trying to reject me? I took the risk to be here, and could report you to my father if you ignore me. My father will accept that we date each other.” Oh gods! What was this? As far as I know, the king and the crown prince have no business together. If she ever tells her father about me, this could be another problem. “But, the prince… “Crown prince is something else. You mustn't take everything he says.” She cut me short, her voice a mutter. “Open the door, or I'm going to see my father.” I didn't know what else to say to her. I can't be the reason the king and the crown prince will begin having misunderstandings, which could lead to the revealing of my true gender. So, I unlocked the door and let her in. No doubt, if I were a man, I would be the luckiest. She was royalty, and so beautiful. But this isn't right, she was falling for her fellow woman, and it was making me harbor guilt in me. “Hi,” she winked at me and took a seat before I could speak. I locked the door and sat opposite her where my meal was. “I'm sorry for distracting your meal.” My meal? I've lost my appetite already. How am I supposed to eat when I am in a trap? A little mistake, I'd be tortured by the lycan prince, and she can't stop him. “Do not tell the crown prince that I came to see you. I'll eventually leave later on, and then by tomorrow, I'll speak to my father to approve of our date. You don't have to be scared about it, okay?” she muttered, gesturing and staring at me. I didn't know whether to nod or not, but then I chose to remind her of something, “I am the lycan Prince's eunuch, and you know he has the power to approve us or not, too, right?” She wanted to speak, but shut her lips again, then pouted, as though I had reminded her of the worst thing ever. I pitied her, because I'm sure she would hate me the most when she realises that she fell for her fellow lady. “I'm sure that crown prince warned you just as he did to me. Don't you think… “I don't think anything,” she retorted and stood up. To my greatest shock, she sat beside me. My belly twisted into a knot. I hated contact with my fellow females, and that made me feel so irritated. Even though some other ladies out there would want to stay with her, even though she had already made this intimate advance, I hated her presence. She took my spoon and ate three spoons full of rice. Just by staring at her, my belly churned in anger. If I were a man, I would grab this true love at this moment. But this is so wrong. She ate again and again until the plate was empty, then she poured herself water from the jar and emptied the cup. Sighing, she turned to me, her face brightening once again. Isn't she older than I am? What were all these? “You see, I finished the meal for you since I hadn't eaten tonight. Do you want some snacks?” she asked, and before I could speak, she brought out a leather and began opening it. “I told my maidservant to have the kitchen servants prepare it for you. I'll get more, with wine, some other day.” Seeing all these, I regretted why I was a woman. Why did we have to meet the wrong person? As a woman to his savage brother, the only good thing he was to me was the fact that he got some nice dìck, and his presence awakened my adrenaline. But, I, as a man to this Princess, she loved me so dearly and was ready to risk it so long as we were together. Our eyes met, and she shrugged her shoulders, “Have a taste…” I had tasted these snacks from her brother's chamber secretly and craved to have more, so I saw no reason to hold back. I ate the first and nodded to her, “It's tasty.” “Would you love more?” she asked, taking my hand into hers. Gods, I wouldn't want her here again, but I really wanted the snack. Having her bring it herself was very risky, so I put it this way, “From now on, I'll be the one to always visit you. Don't bother telling your father yet.” This was to buy time for myself. With that, I believed that even her brother wouldn't be aware, and because I knew that if I turned out not to be her mate, she would let me go, it was a nice decision. If she made s****l advances, I would insist that we stay celibate until we find out if we were mates, so we won't end up hurt. She ran her fingers through my hair, “I accept, so long as you won't change anytime. So, I'll prepare the snacks and wine for you anytime you come. You know my quarters, right?” Rumor would spread and reach the prince's ear if I showed up in her quarters… “I won't come to your quarters. Let's find a secluded place inside or outside the palace to spend time together under the moon some nights.” I answered instead, and I loved the smile that spread across her face. She patted my cheek, “I love you already. Don't worry, I'll find a place secretly. My brother is too cold.” I scoffed and took another snack into my mouth. So milky… At first, I thought she would leave since we had concluded on what would be done. But until I finished the snack, she didn't leave. Rather, she leaned on my shoulder, her arm leaning on me. “My Princess,” I called out, hoping to hear from her, but she happened to have fallen asleep. “What am I supposed to do? Carry you to your quarters?” I exhaled, rubbing my temple. So confused, I only came up with the option of calling Lord Aldric, so I laid her on the bed where I sat and left. I reached out to the Lord, who was shocked to hear me say all that, but he kinda believed me since my gender wasn't known. We left together for my chamber, so he could take the princess with him to her quarters. As we unlocked the door of my chamber and walked in, my leg slipped and I dropped to the floor, lips agape, air left my lungs. Before us was the lycan prince; his glare made my soul leave my body. His sister was kneeling, with her skin dripping blood. I couldn't turn to Lord Aldric, nor did I hear him speak. He warned me. He did it several times. Now, what was he going to do to me for trying to deceive his family? Eventually kill me? Hurt his sister? Expose me? At that point, I wasn't feeling my body again. It was as though I was already in the afterlife.
