Chapter 11: The Threat
As Erica and Alexander began their new life together, they couldn't completely escape the shadow of Alexander's father. His words echoed in Alexander's mind: "If I see you with that woman again, I will make your life miserable."
Alexander knew his father was capable of following through on his threat. He was a powerful man with many connections. However, Alexander also knew that he couldn't let his father control his life. He loved Erica and was determined to be with her, no matter what.
One day, Alexander received a call from his father. He demanded to meet with Alexander, and although Alexander was hesitant, he agreed. He knew he had to face his father sooner or later.
At the meeting, Alexander's father was as stern and cold as ever. He berated Alexander for his decision and threatened to cut him off from the family fortune. But Alexander stood his ground. He told his father that he loved Erica and that he was willing to give up his inheritance for her.
His father was taken aback by Alexander's resolve. He had expected Alexander to back down, to choose his inheritance over Erica. But Alexander's determination only made him more furious. He warned Alexander of the consequences of his decision and left the meeting in a huff.
Alexander returned home to Erica, his mind heavy with his father's threats. But when he saw Erica, all his worries seemed to fade away. He knew he had made the right decision. He was with the woman he loved, and that was all that mattered.
