Sophia's point of view
The next morning, I woke up to my phone ringing.
A groan left my lips before rolling around my bed, using my hand to look for it.
A sigh left my lips before letting out a yawn.
"Hello?" I mumbled softly.
"Sophia, what the hell, where are you, Mr. Blackwood called me, he said you haven't arrived at work yet, why?" Rachel yelled, making me hiss.
"I don't want to work there anymore, Rachel, I just don't feel comfortable around him, he makes me scared as hell," I said with a sigh.
"Well, I guess you don't need your job then" she replied with a sigh.
"Just for today please, you can tell him you don't want to work with him anymore, just don't let him get angry like this again. He yelled at me," she said.
Nodding my head, I mumbled a little"sorry" and then ended the call.
Rolling out of bed, I made my way towards my bathroom to take a shower.
My mind immediately went back to little Jack.
I can't believe I did that to a kid because of his scary Father.
I planned to stay home and not go to work, then received a text from Mr. Blackwood saying I was fired.
Then I'll fly out of the country and live a new life there.
I still think I should go with this plan.
A sigh left my lips when the warm water ran down my body.
Everything was good, calm, and quiet, just like the way I liked it.
Not an arrogant man yelling and ordering me around.
When I was done, I grabbed my towel and wrapped it around my body, then made my way outside.
Thinking of an outfit for today, I heard the sound of my phone buzzing, but I ignored it, thinking it was Rachel again.
I honestly wish she was in my place, then she would know how I feel.
Grabbing my black dress, I put on my panties and bra, then grabbed my heels and jewelry.
While putting them on, I opened my room door and then grabbed my bag.
"I see you are dressed up!' a deep voice said.
Making me scream.
My eyes widened when I saw Mr. Blackwood on my chair.
A glass cup in his left hand, and he had lots of rings on and his black suit.
"What are you doing here?" I asked him while looking at my door.
"I swear I locked that door yesterday," I said to myself.
I have my ways," he replied cryptically, a smirk playing at the corner of his lips.
My heart raced as I struggled to maintain my composure.
I couldn't shake off the feeling of vulnerability in his presence, the same fear that had driven me to consider leaving my job.
"What do you want, Mr. Blackwood?" I managed to stammer out, my voice wavering slightly.
"Huh? We both have a Gala to work on, did you forget?" He asked with a tilted head.
"No, but I was heading to work right now, I didn't want you coming to my house," I said quietly.
"Tell me Sophia, why did you leave yesterday? When you promised my son you would stay for dinner?" He asked.
"Nothing sir, just didn't feel like eating anymore" I replied softly, looking at the ground.
Praying in could just open and swallow me.
"Lying now?" He asked me.
"No, really, I don't just did not feel like eating anymore," I replied softly.
"Well, I hope you want to eat now because my son is waiting for us in the car. Good thing you are already dressed up," he said with a smirk.
My eyes widened before shaking my head.
" I don't think that's an idea, I don't want to eat right now" I tried to say.
But the looks he gave me made me feel small.
"Let's go now," he said before standing up. He dropped the glass cup and walked toward my door.
"Let's go now, Princess Sophia," he teased.
Nodding my head, I looked at the ground as I walked past him.
This was not part of the plan.
As we walked to the car, I couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions.
Mr. Blackwood's grip on my arm was firm, but not unkind.
I glanced at Jack, who was bouncing with excitement in the backseat, and my heart softened.
"Where are we going?" I asked, trying to sound calm.
"A special place," Mr. Blackwood replied, his eyes crinkling at the corners.
"Just the three of us" I heard Jack say, making me smile.
"I'm sorry I left yesterday, little Jack. I just had an emergency at home," I said softly.
"It's okay, I cried because I thought you left me like my mama did to me and Papa." He said before looking at his fingers.
"Can you please never do that again, Sophia?" He asked me, his cute brown eyes staring at me.
Nodding my head, I had no idea what to say, I quickly looked at Mr. Blackwood only to see his eyes hard-staring ahead.
"Where are we going?" I asked, trying to sound calm.
"Today is getting to know each other better," Jack said loudly.
I felt a flutter in my chest. Was this a date? With Mr. Blackwood and his son?
As we drove through the city, the tension in my body began to ease.
Mr. Blackwood pointed out landmarks and told stories about the city's history.
Jacek giggled and asked questions, his eyes shining with wonder.
We arrived at a small, cozy restaurant tucked away in a quiet neighborhood.
"Daddy and I come here all the time!" I heard Jack say.
Nodding my head, I looked at the restaurant before walking with them.
When we got in, a chubby man came towards us.
"Ah, you guys are back again!" He said loudly, making me smile.
"Uncle Ben, look, we brought a princess too!" Jack said happily while pointing his little fingers at me.
Making my eyes wide out.
"She's truly a princess, welcome me, my restaurant princess?" Ben asked.
"Princess Sophia!" Jack said loudly with a giggle.
"Yes, Princess Sophia, it's a pleasure," Ben said with a bow, making me giggle before doing a curtsy.
With that, we went to our tables.
After placing our orders, we all sat down staring at each other.
No one's shared.
"Do you have kids, Sophia?" Jack asked me.
Shaking my head, I smiled at him before saying,
"Not yet, I'm still not married!" I replied softly, looking at him.
I could feel Mr. Blackwood stared at me.
"Same is my Dad, maybe you both can get married," Jack said with a giggle, making my eyes wide out before looking at Mr. Blackwood, who didn't seem bothered by what he said.
The meal was delightful, with laughter and conversation flowing easily between me and jack.
Jack told me about his favorite cartoons and games.
I found myself relaxing, enjoying their company.
As we finished dessert, Mr. Blackwood leaned back.
"It's time to go now Jack.", he said loudly.
"But Dad!" Jack yelled, throwing his hands up in the air.
"It's almost time to sleep, and you know that," Mr. Blackwood said with a chuckle.
"Would I ever see you again?' Jack asked me softly, his eyes holding up tears.
"Of course love, anytime you want I'll be there!" I replied softly, using my fingers to clean his tears.
"Now let's go now," I said with a smile.
Nodding his head, he lifted his hands to his Dad.
Who was staring at me with a look I couldn't understand.
"Daddy let's go now!" Jack said softly, making his father look down at him with a nod.
"Sorry son, let's go now," he said softly, then carried him up.
With that, we all walked out of the restaurant, not forgetting to say "goodbye" to Ben.
Let's just hope, Mr. Blackwood won't fire me tomorrow.
