Ch 23 Sudden

Chapter 23

•ORIS•

I woke up to the light shining through the circular window. I picked up my phone and looked at the time 6:45 am. I let out a small sigh and got out of bed. I took off my clothes and hopped into the shower. After I was done I wrapped my hair in a towel and brushed my teeth 

'Wake pups?'

'What pups are you talking about Pan?'

'New pups...Xo...Stacy...Zari...and Zen'

'They're not Pups Pan...Well Zen isn't' I mentally chuckled at Pans sudden interest

'Go run with...Pups?' He sounded confused but rather excited 

I rinsed out my mouth and then went to put some simple clothes on a regular black v-neck and some tan Cargo shorts since I would be able to easily slip these off

'I think that's a good idea Pan it's been a while since we got to run huh?'

He didn't respond but I could see him happily prancing around in my head and I couldn't help the laugh that escaped me. I walked back into my bathroom and let my hair down tussling it a bit, I threw my head forward and then I twisted my hair till it turned into a bun at the top of my head securely tying it up with a black hair tie. I stared into the mirror and then the thought crept into my mind 

'should I shave?' 

I didn't expect him to respond but then Pan said

'Don't like… scratchy' I pondered for a bit deciding that I should since I probably look older than I actually am and answered him

'I'll shave then' 

'Happy!'

I picked up the razor and said goodbye to my mustache and goatee.

I let my hand do the magic and after carefully shaving I rinsed off my face on put on some aloe lotion. I looked at my phone and saw that it was 7 am I smiled and walked out of my room. I adjusted my shirt and fastened my shorts and took a deep breath and then I shouted at the top of my lungs 

"WAKE UP PUPS WE'RE GOING FOR A RUN!" 

I heard 3 thuds and one loud bang I'm sure Zen somehow managed to hit his head so I did my best to hold in my laughter.

2 minutes passed and the girls all just walked out with their hair up in messy buns well Zari and Xo did Stacy had her hair down. Her curls puffing out in different directions, and I'm sure it wasn't on purpose but they all wore simple plain t-shirts. Zaris was light Gray, Stacys was white and Xoila's was black each one sporting some running shorts but no shoes since we didn't need them. Zen walked out with just some dark blue basketball shorts, his 6 pack very visible. 

Gosh if he didn't have a mate I would be his. 

As if he could sense my thoughts he just smirked at me stretched out flexing his muscles and winked at me saying "Your new look suits you" as he lazily let his arms fall to his side, I felt my cheeks get a little pink as I let out a simple ahem to get everyone's undivided attention even though I'm sure they caught mine and Zens interaction and said "Okay guys let go for a run and then we can come back and eat breakfast before heading out to meet the new boss" 

The girls giggled and Stacy's eyes gleamed as she said "I was just about to suggest that to Xo" Xoila smiled and simply nodded her head saying "I don't see why not" with that they all headed downstairs then Zen followed and I walked down after him. Not to look at his back or anything cuz I mean who would do something like that? 

We all walked to the front door and Stacy opened it and ran out Xoila followed behind and the rest of us all walked out together. I stood on the porch and pulled off my shirt. The girls all went behind trees as did Zen so they could shift and put their clothes in a safe place for when we get back. I pulled off my shorts and boxers jumping off the veranda and shifting.

•3rd POV•

Pan landed gracefully feeling overjoyed that he could finally come out again stretching out his paws. He saw a pair of paws that didn't belong to him and looked up to see a wolf he hadn’t seen in years calling out his name in excitement 

'Welly!'

'Hello Pan it's been a few years'

'Yes...years' Pan said rather sadly, then Welly moved closer and nuzzled Pan who happily cuddled him back.

Three female wolves emerged and approached the two wolves. Pan happily ran to them followed by Welly but stopped about 3 feet away because he knew better than to playfully pounce on the other wolves. Even if it was Xo, Stacy, and Zari the wolves didn't know him so he Sat in front of the silver-white wolf and said

'Pup very pretty'

'Thank you, Pan your pretty too, my name is Isa' she nuzzled him

Pan nuzzled her back happy to have a family again and then looked to the Sandy brown wolf and said

'Pretty eyes'

'Thank you! Your Goldeyes are pretty too hello Pan my name is Mai'

He nodded his head and rubbed his muzzle against hers then he looked at Bree 

'Hello Pup'

'Hello Pan my name is Bree'

He nodded and then hopped around wagging his tail.

'Run!'

'Let's go then' said Isa and she took off running 

Pan overjoyed bolted behind her and everyone else followed they ran after one another and started to playfully nip at each other then Mai suggested 

'Let's play… What do humans call it? Um, let's play hide and seek tag! I'll tag first'

Everyone said Okay and went to go hide once everyone hid they all mind linked that they were ready and the game began. Mai took a deep breath and picked a foreign scent of something that smelled of orange, nutmeg, and cedar. After locking in on the scent she took off running following after it. She went about half a mile when she saw while she was looking for tackling Welly 

'Found you Welly now you have to help me find the rest!'

'Is that how this game works?'

'Not sure but who cares I'm hungry'

He let out a mental chuckle and then he took a deep breath picking up on an ocean sea breeze with a hint of mint and bolted right after it. Mai took a deep breath and picked up on jasmine and carnations and honey bolting in the opposite direction. Once Welly found Pan they started to play around and after rolling around on the forest floor they decided to find Mai. 

They both took deep breaths and picked up on Mai’s scent of cinnamon and apples with a hint of vanilla. They shared a look and after having a silent conversation with their eyes they both bolted running faster than necessary and almost running into Mai and Bree

They all stopped and greeted one another touching foreheads or nuzzling it was then that The Beta of the Fea Moon Pack noted something fairly important

'Hey has anyone seen Isa?'

They all stopped and realized that they didn't know where she was then noted the fact that she won the game. A wave of worry washed over everyone

'Let's find her'

Everyone knew what scents to associate with who so everyone tried to focus on finding the one scent they hadn’t associated with anyone else. Then suddenly in the breeze, there was the faint sweet smell of lavender and roses mixed with pine, and deciding to follow it they all took off running.

They ran faster as the scent grew stronger worry in every step, adrenaline pumping as they burst into the clearing where Oris’s house was located. Coming to a halt letting their eyes scan the area till they halted on Isa who was laying on her belly with her paws crossed under her head  

‘You found me!’

She stood on her hind legs and with a wolfish grin said

‘I win so now that that’s settled let’s eat’

She jumped off of the porch and then went behind a tree near the creek and out walked Xoila with her black tee and running shorts. “Come on guys I'm hungry,” she said with a rare smile on her face as she stood expectantly on the redwood veranda with her hands on her hips. Relief washed over everyone when they saw her they all went to their respective trees and One by one they all shifted back to their humans. 

Pan walked towards the porch and shifted back to Oris who quickly pulled on his shorts. He walked towards Xoila ruffling her hair and with a smile said “I’ll get breakfast started” he withdrew his hand and walked into the house while Xoila waited for her pack. Oris decides on a simple breakfast of scrambled eggs accompanied by waffles, strawberries with the choice of orange juice and coffee.

After eating Oris spoke up “Okay everyone I think we all need to shower and get ready for you guys to meet the Capo of Circo De la Rosa” Xoila looked up from her mug of almost empty coffee “Alright everyone time to get ready I get a feeling that there gonna test us so wear something comfortable yet presentable” everyone gave a curt nod clearing the table heading to their respective rooms to shower. “We head out in 20 so be ready” called Oris as Xoila put her dishes in the sink to get ready to meet the man who made Oris the wolf he was today.

20 minutes later everyone came back down dressed casually Stacy wore black jeans with her limited edition 5SOS hoodie and some black ankle socks with her black and red Nike running shoes, Zari came down wearing some light washed high waisted shorts with a black G-Eazy script Tee tucked in and some black Adidas running shoes

Zen wore some dark grey Joggers and a white V-neck with some black and white high top Vans, Oris wore some dark washed ripped jeans a black V-neck, his black trench coat, and some black combat boots, and finally, Xoila walked out wearing a white beautiful carcass tee with some red Adidas joggers and classic white Adidas shoes.

Oris smiled and said “Ready?”

Everyone nodded and then Xoila sent through the link  

‘I get a feeling that we're all in for some surprises’

Setting everyone in a state of alert as they all walked out and went straight to the black jeep Oris hopped into the Driver's seat and Xoila walked towards the passenger door that Zen opened and then closed after she got situated. He walked over and opened the door and helped Zari and Stacy in sliding in after them pulling on his seat belt and giving everyone an expectant look. Everyone pulled on their seatbelts and Oris started the car Driving forward then hitting a U-turn and getting back on the dirt road that leads them there.

The car ride was quiet as they drove through the nicer part of Mendocino passing all the major shopping centers hitting the freeway and then heading down an off-road path leading into another forest. An eerie feeling taking over as they passed the ghostly woods that even illuminated with the morning light seemed to leave an ominous feeling in its wake. There was no bird or deer insight... no sign of life which sent a chill down the young wolves' spine as they continued through the eerie woods. 

The ride was about another 10 minutes and then they pulled up to what seemed like an abandoned warehouse that seemed like it was covered with moss and vines. The structure seemed like it was seconds from collapsing.

•ZARI•

I felt Bree stir as we got closer she seemed anxious as we got closer

‘Are you okay Bree?’

‘I'm not sure Z I didn’t think it was possible’

‘What do you mean Bree?’

‘I'm not sure just keep your eyes open’

‘Should I be worried?’

‘No...Yes… I don’t know Z just stay alert’

She cut off our connection and I didn’t understand what was going on then Zen said: “Are you Okay Zari?” I looked at him then and linked him as I spoke: “Yeah I'm fine.” 

‘No I'm not okay Bree’s really anxious and that's making me anxious’ 

Then he spoke as he linked back “You sure you're not nervous I mean the building does look ricketty huh?” 

‘I get what you mean Welly has been pacing back and forth in my head for a while now but he won’t talk, and no matter what I do or say he won’t chill out’

Then you could hear the sound of a door being pulled open so both Zen and I looked up and what came into view was a very sturdy-looking Parking garage and Xi and another man pulling the doors of the warehouse open so Oris could pass through with the jeep. 

As he passed through and passed Xi Oris gave him the finger with a smirk which Xi sent right back and then turned away to close the doors behind us. Oris pulled into the Only available Parking space and Motioned with his head for all of us to get out. 

I felt Bree get more anxious with every step we took. As if Zen could sense it he clasped my hand in reassurance giving it a squeeze as we all walked up the stairs that seemed to lead to the upper level of the warehouse. 

I held his hand because I could feel my anxiety eating at me but... no, I wouldn't let it show so holding my head up high I clasped Zen's hand causing him to look at me this gave me the chance to send back a reassuring smile as we got to the entrance. 

Once we got closer to the door Oris pulled out a key with a sun charm at the end of it that he placed into a lock that was in the form of an X which he turned counterclockwise 2 times and back to open the door. Then at the sound of a click he grabbed the door handle and flung it open and saying “I'm here my loves did you miss me” 

Then suddenly the room was full of men and women that gave off intimidation auras but happy cheers when they noticed Oris. Then they all suddenly growled which surprised the s**t out of me because these weren’t just ordinary men and women but rouges. 

A wave of worry filled me and I looked to My Alpha and My Beta who seemed to Ooze power asserting their dominance amongst these other rouges daring them to challenge us, cold gazes gracing their features. 

Zen let out a low growl back issuing a challenge, and with all the power my pack leaders were showing made many of the rogues showed their necks in submission to the high ranking wolves as we passed and I felt my heart swell with pride and made me stand taller and gripped Zen's hand to calm him a bit. 

I let my gift roam called Scan and noted that some of these wolves were of the rare kinds those who couldn’t shift but had the speed and the strength of your average wolves. These were the kind of wolves who came from a Human and werewolf couple 

Pairings such as those have a 50% chance of having offspring who can’t shift into wolves actual wolves. These Human/Wolves are known as shifters because in the case where they can shift they don’t have to take off their clothes they can go between Human and wolf form without accidentally shredding their clothes. 

They used to be very common in the olden days but weren’t very well accepted amongst the werewolf communities because they have wicked tempers due to their animalistic nature and made it harder for them to keep their wolves in check. I hate to be the one to say it but they were slightly the cause of our kind being exposed carelessly.  

I was a bit weary but tried my best to stay calm seeing as Bree couldn’t chill. I mean I get it because I can feel as we get in closer proximity to the wolf in command of this rouge pack. His power was great because you could feel it pulsate as we got closer but it was nothing compared to the power Xoila and Stacy were exuding. 

The other wolves parted revealed the wolf in command but then the most delicious scent hit my nose and made me lose focus. It was rosewood fused with blackberries and bergamot leaves. The scent was overpowering it and made me feel woozy. 

Then Bree began to chant MATE but I disregarded it because I needed to see what was overpowering my senses and with very hooded eyes and a flushed face I looked up to the owner of the scent he looked to be about 6’4 he had Dark brown hair that was up in a man-bun, tan skin and a full-grown, well-groomed lined up beard, his shoulders were very broad and his strong arms looked like they could snap timber in half with ease. 

I looked up at his face again and started to lose focus under Piercing Hazel's green gaze that flickered between their natural color and black. Then opened his kissable lips and with a deep voice that sent shivers down my spine and set off a hurricane in my stomach, he very loudly stated

“MATE” 

It took me a second to process what he said and then I acknowledged what Bree was saying and then it hit me this man was my mate. 

'Wait, mate?' 

'Wait Bree did you say mate?'

'Yes' she purred and I couldn't be more confused as I said

"W-What!"
