Ch 14 Wolfs Den

Chapter 14

•XOILA•

I woke up today feeling out of sorts. Maybe it's because it's my birthday or maybe because I'll get to meet my wolf. My body feels strangely heavy and my movements feel stiff.

I turned a bit groaning quietly and looked at my best friend still sleeping soundly. I'm happy we were able to get through this year without as much trouble. My hope is that when we leave we can figure it out as we go and continue to get stronger for the many troubles we may face. 

I'm honestly surprised I woke up first as if she could sense my bewilderment. Her eyes popped open and she sat up and she turned to look at me. I then noted her sparkling eyes and I knew I would probably have to brace for impact.

Then up as if Satan himself had burned her butt she shot up and tackled me into a hug “HAPPY BIRTHDAY XO!!!!!” she shouted. Today my ears seem to be more sensitive so I winced and she kinda jumped “Happy birthday Stace”

As if on cue Zari walked in with her backpack on and 3 cupcakes with 1 candle on 2 of the “Happy birthday you two” with a big smile plastered on her face 

“You two will shift at midnight when the day is over because that will give both your bodies time to prep for the shift” I looked at Stacy who was beaming with excitement

“OOOOOOOOH do you think we’ll meet our mates,” she said practically jumping for joy. I laughed and said “I just hope they aren’t in this pack” then they both looked at me and Stacy said “Why would that be bad” I looked at her and said “I mean we are trying to leave” she just kept looking at me as if not getting it “THat would tie us to the pack dummy” and then she said “Riiiight... got yah” smirking and giving me the finger guns.

I looked at her and just shook my head, she really is the biggest dork. Then Zari spoke up 

“Well we gotta blow out these candles before the cupcakes are ruined” I looked at Stace 

“Ready to make a wish” she smirked and pointed at her forehead 

“Ready Freddy” I laughed and said 

“ On 3” she simply nodded and we all began to count out loud 

“1… 2… 3” we blew out our candles and I made my wish

‘I hope we all find happiness someday’

The candles were out and I sent a silent prayer to the moon goddess that the day would go well without any issue.

“Man I can wait to meet my mate. I hope they're handsome,” said Stacy breaking me from my thoughts. Zari chimed in “what if your mates a female?” Stacy was quick to shoot back “Well females can be handsome too especially if they're tall and lovely” I looked at Stacy and took a bite out of my cupcake. The flavor was strange but I thought maybe it's because Zari must have taken them after some party. 

“You’ve really strained your head with these thoughts huh Stace?” she twiddled her fingers and said “well yeah I have… who am I to deny the greatest gift the moon goddess could ever bestow” then Zari spoke, “Is the all-powerful Stacy getting flustered?”

Stacy let out an exasperated growl and said “I feel attacked and I don’t appreciate it” We laughed as we ate then Stacy grumbled and then I said “It's all in good fun Stace I'm sure our mates are gonna be wonderful and loving” Then Zari and smiled “I'm sure they will” Stacy then chimed in “I know they will”

We finished up and Zari walked out leaving her bag here so we would all meet up before sneaking out. Stacy and I took this opportunity to get our bags ready to leave for good. I grabbed a picture of my mom and dad.

I carefully placed it with the sketchbook I had drawn in the day I lost them. I tossed in most of the clothes and Stacy had managed to get back whenever we got the chance. I saw that Stacy did the same but It was the last picture we took with them while Cadmar was still away.

She noticed the look on my face and then spoke “Yeah I get that he’s my brother but… He doesn’t act like one and… he didn’t mourn them as he should have so…” She let out a big sigh with a grim expression on her face and her eyes shut “You are the only family I have left Xoila blood or not” I looked at her and took the picture from her hands and smiled 

“I remember Fae took the picture while Dad had all 3 of us in his arms…it was a really good day..” I sighed and then I said “I hope they aren’t disappointed in us for running away” she looked at me as she stuffed her clothes in her duffle bag and a pair of black Vans.

“They wouldn’t be disappointed Xo…They know it's the right thing to do” she put her hand on my shoulder and looked at the picture and smiled “ Besides we’ll be back soon” I gave her a hug and she hugged back giving a tight squeeze to reassure me “Do you think this should be good?”

"Yeah, that should be more than enough I think… we’re probably gonna need to buy some newer clothes later" then I looked over at mine I had like 3 pairs of jeans, my favorite pair of sweatpants, some hoodies and my black hightop Vans. Then I thought "Stacy do we have our slides?” she handed me my black slides that say Nike in red with a smirk

“I managed to snatch these while I was cleaning with a little added bonus and now that we're done let's get ready for our last day.” I sighed “Your right thank the moon goddess we had a late start today”

Why do we start later today you might ask? Well, I'm not really sure either but its whatever at this point, I don't think it matters. I ate the last of the cupcake and got up to shower quickly I got out and Stacy went in.

I put on my clothes and some black slip-on vans put my hair up in a messy bun and then sat on the bed. My stomach wasn't feeling all too well again this time it was worst I stood up and stretched hoping it was a muscle thing.

Stacy walked out fully dressed with her hair in a ponytail and a smirk on her face “Let's go to our last day” I stretched on more time and heard my back crack “Let's go” we walked out and Zari was walking out of her room as well she joined us and we all walked to the stairwell. I thought it was kind of strange that it was just us

‘I hear yah why is it just us’ Stacy said sounding just as confused as I was

‘I'm not sure Jake told me we all had to come in at this time... Maybe it was just meant for us’ Zari said.

‘Just be careful today let’s just try to stay out of the way so we won't get hurt and we’ll all meet at my and Stacy’s room so we can leave’

then Zari and Stacy said in unison ‘Aye Aye Captain’

then I stopped at the door that led to the kitchen and looked at them both ‘Dorks’

We walked in as they started to giggle then Zari stopped moving all of a sudden and Stacy let out a low growl. I looked at them a bit confused and looked where they were looking I jumped a bit because there was Cadmar standing there facing us his amber gaze burning with anger.

We stopped and I noticed that Jake was nowhere in sight ‘bow’ Stacy and Zari jumped at my sudden link but they instantly bowed and I did as well knowing neither would I spoke up “Alpha Cadmar what brings you to us” His anger which was basically palpable instantly dissipated and a smile graced his features.

This seemed strangely suspicious as he walked towards us and then spoke “I have just come to personally assign your duties for the day, Jake and Brice are busy with the other omegas”

I could feel that they both felt very alarmed and before I could reassure them that we were gonna be okay he said “ Stacy and Zari will be cleaning the attic and will make sure everything is in order” they both turned to look at me and Stacy looked at me then spoke

“Cad- Alpha what will Xoila be doing?” he looked at his sister and for a second he looked remorseful but then his eyes hardened and he spoke again “Xoila will be acting as an assistant for me today while Jake and Brice are busy today”

Then Zari spoke as if she was scared “But the attic is too much for just the 2 of us wouldn’t it be quicker if there was 3 instead?” her voice trembled but she looked him square in the eye standing her ground.

He walked towards her and caressed her face “Zariah for you I'll send in someone else to help” This asshole Knows that Zari hates her full name I fought to suppress a growl. As he stared down at her his eyes glazed over and then Zen came in very confused he stopped and bowed “You called for me Alpha?”

“Yes Zen you will be assisting Zariah and Stacy in the attic” then he asked “What will Xoila be doing” he stepped away from Zari and then came and stood beside me “Xoila will assist me in the office with some paperwork for the day.

He placed a hand to guide me out of the room and I turned to look at Zari, Stacy, and Zen. They all looked worried and I simply gave them a weary smile ‘I’m sure I’ll be okay and I’ll link you guys if anything goes wrong’

Zari and Stacy just both nodded and Zen just looked confused. I turned and walked with Cadmar to his office his Dreads now shoulder length and his aura seemingly intimidating I didn’t know what to make of this sudden need for my help.

We did just as he said I helped him fill out the piles and piles of paperwork, he would simply quickly review them then sign them. The day went on like this and I only stopped twice, the first time during lunchtime and the second during dinner only to bring his food up because he seemed really engrossed in his paperwork.

He stopped for a moment I looked up because I no longer heard the sound of his pen on paper he seemed pensive and then reached into his desk drawer and pulled out a caramel candy wrapped in a clear plastic “ Would you like one Xoila?” I looked at him and noticed that there was no brand on this one as if he sensed my question he spoke again “I asked the kitchen to make me some yesterday..don’t worry they won’t hurt you”

I looked at it and I couldn’t tell if he was lying or not but I took it and ate it anyway. I hadn’t eaten since that cupcake this morning and could really use some sugar in my system.

After that hours went by and it was already 11:30 pm we were just finishing up and then a felt this huge burst of pain shoot threw out my body and I dropped to the ground. Cadmar stood up and I looked up at him “i-it hurts…”

he crouched down and leaned in really close and whispered “That's what wolfsbane does dear” my eyes widened and my vision began to blur because of the numbing pain pounded in my body. I turned on my side and began to crawl towards the door dragging my body to my only chance of escape.

I watched as she tried to crawl away from me it was so cute seeing her gorgeous body growing numb because of the wolfsbane I’ve been slowly giving her. I felt a chill of utter pleasure run down my spine and couldn’t help but smile at the feeling. I watched at how she tried to reach for the doorknob knowing the wolfsbane was starting to take its toll on her little body. 

I pulled her by the ankle and began to stroke up her legs she let out a small cry and then she said “Please don’t do this let me go to my room its…..very late” She made my skin boil ahh her fear was palpable it gave me such a rush “but… why would you try to run from your mate Xoila”

Her she began to shake in fear “You are not my mate” and started to cry out “ Please let me go! Someone anybody help me!” She tried to pull away but it was too late for her my sweet little mate “I can't move! Someone help!…. I Can't move” she began to cry harder and I pulled her closer and spread her legs open to put around me.

I tore her pants and shirt open “I love that your panties and bra match” I began to touch at her skin feeling her warmth “That's so sexy” she cried harder and continued to try to move away from me.

She was really trying my patience “Hon you can't just try and crawl away from me were just about to start having fun” She raised her hand and slapped me I registered that my face had looked away and it took a moment for me to process. 

I looked at her again and saw that she was on her stomach trying to crawl away from me. I shuddered in delight loving the fear I incite in her heart, as I tore the rest of her clothes off and captured both of her hands 

“PLEASE LET ME GO! DON’T DO THIS” 

then I unbutton my pants.

“Now let’s have some fun mate”

•ZARI•

“Zen thanks for coming to help”

“Its no problem Zari you and Stacy aren’t big enough to move all this stuff around”

“Yeah, thanks for the help Zen we really appreciate it honestly my stomach hurts I think maybe it’s because of all the lifting… mean we have been trying so maybe my muscles aren’t used to it”

“Then maybe you shouldn’t neglect your training”

“I haven’t... Hey, you okay Zari?”

“Yeah, I'm…”

I felt like the wind got knocked out of me as this burning pain in my stomach hit me and my vision blurred as a burst of tears started to run down my face.

I heard as Bree howled at her mates betrayal and Cadmar was... I looked at Stacy and let out a soft whimper. I felt like my soul was being torn apart... like my skin was on fire I could feel it the pain it was burning like being stab repeatedly. 

I couldn’t hold it and let out a scream as I fell Zen and Stacy ran to me, Stacy was clutching her stomach. I knew she shouldn’t have let her go alone I knew yet we didn’t try hard enough to keep her by our side till the end of today.

Zen and Stacy looked as confused as ever but Stacy looked like she felt what was going on realization must have hit as she spoke 

“Somethings wrong! We have to get to Xo!”
