Ch 12 Mendocino California

Chapter 12

Stacy was going through our nightstand to find her spare jammies and after a few seconds I responded

“Ory is that you?”

Stacy froze and slightly turned to face me she came towards me and set her jammies on my bed and pulled me towards her to sit down and then his deep husky voice came over the speaker on the Motorola

“AH My sweet little cousin how I’ve missed your voice it's been years”

Stacy smiled a little taken by his voice and then I answered

“It’s nice to hear your voice too”

“My sweet little cousin are you ready to leave that horrid place with little Dyad to come live with me in Mendocino, California?”

I looked at Stacy and she nodded with a twinkle in her eye

“Yeah Ory we’re ready to leave.. wait is it okay to talk about this over the phone?”

“Yes don’t worry my sweet XoXo my phones can't be tapped especially with the tech at my disposal”

“Your Phones?”

“Ah, you silly baby did you really think I bought that phone?”

“Well yeah, How else would you have this phone?"

"Well I made it Einstein no one on this planet would be able to tap into it" he replied sarcastically

"Well, I didn’t think to assume you were some kind of amazing tech-savvy person” In the most sarcastic tone I could muster.

He just laughed  

"Xoila I made that phone before I left the pack"

you could practically hear the smirk in his voice as he responded I turned to Stacy who got visibly sad as we both remembered that day quite clearly... and how sad It was to see him go

*entering flashback to 6 years ago*

I was playing outside with Stacy and Zari no particular game just running around making flower crowns under the watchful eye of my mom and the Luna. I remember my mom scolding us for cutting the flowers and Luna Sally laughing it off saying that we have to make them crowns to make up for it. My mom looked at her like she grew 2 heads but Luna Sally said to let us have our fun, my mom grumbled but stayed by Luna Sally's side overlooking the garden. 

As we sat down to begin making the crowns a sudden scream could be heard across the lot from where we sat, it seemed to be coming from Orys best friend's house. Luna Sally called us over we all stood and ran to them immediately. Luna Sally ordered 3 pack warriors who were on patrol to check it out, they took immediate action and ran into the home where the scream was heard... in the commotion you could hear a scuffle and then two of the pack warriors emerged with a very battered Oris dragging him out each holding an arm his head hanging and blood trickling down his brow. The last pack warrior emerged with his mate Crystal a slender blond with pale skin and blue eyes, who had been Oris’s best friend since high school looking beat and battered sobbing uncontrollably.

The moment her foot touched the ground she began to shout “HE TRIED TO RAPE ME!!!” her mate tried his best to soothe her but she just kept shouting 

“HE WOULDN'T LISTEN TO ME!!!” as Oris got closer you could hear him mumble in his defense 

“I didn’t do anything” the moment the words left his mouth he was struck by one of the pack warriors who retorted

 “SHUT THE HELL UP YOU DISGUSTING PIECE OF s**t” and Crystal began to cry louder 

“YOU ABOMINATION” 

"I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING TO YOU" Oris shouted in defense.

 He was struck again and I stood up and ran to the pack warriors holding Oris but my mother was faster.

She knocked one of the pack warriors off with a roundhouse kick and the other with another kick square in the jaw. She had been so quick that she caught Oris as he crumpled to the floor cradling his head with one arm as she rested him against her chest. The pack warrior who was Crystal's mate at the time was about to protest but Luna Sally intervened “Don't touch him” I remember the suffocating power that rolled off of her in waves that day. 

Her eyes glazed over and Fae appeared minutes later “Fae Help Loren and Bring Oris to my office” she then turned her piercing glare towards Crystal who seemed to have calmed down “Crystal you come to my office as well Dr. Dawn will perform a rape kit in the nearest room” 

Crystal began to protest “But Luna--” 

“Enough it has already been arranged at my side”

 “Luna--”

 “NOW” Luna Sally snapped and Crystal walked to her side and visibly lost all color.

I spoke then “MAMA” and my mother turned when she had finally gotten Oris in a comfortable position for her and Fae to carry “She’s lying” Crystal snapped immediately “NO IM NOT YOU LITTLE s**t,” my mother, Fae, and Luna Sally all said in unison “QUITE” Crystal shut her mouth no one would ever dare defy their The Luna, The Female Beta, and the Strongest Pack warrior. 

Dr. Dawn came running to help My mother who could hardly support Oris’s large frame. “I’ll take him Lori, Fae and I can handle him” My mother was about to protest but then Fae spoke “You can come by once we sort this out” my mother huffed, and then Luna Sally said “Why don’t you hear Xo out? You can both come by and tell me later” after that they all walked to the packhouse where Luna Sally’s office was located.

When they were out of earshot I signaled Stacy and Zari to follow they saluted and then left trailing behind them. 

Then I told Mama “Mama Ory wouldn’t have done something like that” she looked at me with watery eyes and said “I know Xo” she began to cry and then I hugged her and motioned for her to come closer “Mama Ory doesn’t like girls he told me yesterday” her eyes grew wide and she grabbed my arm and almost dragged me to the packhouse.

Later that day we found out that the rape kit showed no sign of s****l assault Stacy and Zari told me this. We all then heard from Fae after she entered both their mind she saw what had truly happened. Oris had come out to Crystal hoping his best friend would understand but she told him he was being ridiculous telling him that he was just mistaken and that despite her mate she loved him. 

Oris laughed it off as a joke and the Crystal tried to kiss him which took him by surprise so she successfully knocked him on the bed. She then began to try and do the unholy and tried to remove his clothes. Oris refused her advances and begged her to get off thus confessing that he was in love with her mate and not her. 

He didn’t want to but began to try and push her off without hurting her. Crystal didn't like that she was being rejected by the man she loved and began to strike herself hard enough to leave bruises Ory tried to stop her by getting her off. Before she fell off she pulled him down with her and tore at her clothes and began screaming. You already know what happened after that...

A few days later after informing The alpha, he let Luna Sally decided her fate, Luna Sally decided to kick Crystal out of the pack for lying and accusing a fellow pack member of such a horrible act. Soon after it was heard that they found her body hanging from a tree 30 miles away from the northern border. 

She took her life because the man she loved didn't love her back, her mate lost it and almost beat Oris to death. He was shot and Oris was once again treated by the pack doctor and when Oris recovered he began to be mistreated by a few other small-minded pack members who were against homosexuality. He was called derogatory names, a waste of space, and a murderer. Oris nearly took his life after a month of trying to handle the bullying I was lucky enough to save him.

I remember when I found him lying in his own blood on the ground in the bathroom with his wrist cut open, I screamed because you could almost see the bone and my father came barreling in. He looked at me and then saw him picked Oris up with ease and carried him full sprint to the Pack Hospital. 

My mom was out with the Luna at the time so she didn't know about it till much later in the day. 

When My mom finally got back and he had come to she ran into the room and hugged him with all her might and cried her heart out apologizing for not being there when he needed her. He told her that it was okay and hugged her back until she stopped sobbing. She just continued to apologize to him telling him that she couldn’t believe the pack was so ignorant, and remained by his side and holding him to her refusing to leave until he had enough blood back in his system. 

Once his wounds healed, Oris told her that he should leave the pack, my mom refused and told him that the pack would come to accept him. My Dad told her that it would be for the best for Oris's own safety and for her and my sake. 

She complied after he was released from the pack hospital and told him that he should go stay with the Onyx Moon Pack in California she had a friend who had become the Luna there so he would be in safe capable hands but he refused and told her that he had already chosen the rogue life. 

Days passed and then came the day he would leave us, I remember I cried so much when he was leaving I remember he crouched to my level and he told me “Once your 16 if you ever want to leave this place… activate this.” He handed me the Motorola “The code is your birthday” and with that, he shifted and ran off to the nearest airport. We didn't hear from him after that...

*back to the present*

“How did you live after that Ory? I mean when you left 6 years ago?” 

“Well maybe I'll tell you both when you get here,” he said in a tone that sounded as if he was deep in thought. “For now I need you to tell me when do you two want to leave so that I can book everything accordingly”

“Do you think you can have everything ready after our 16th birthday?”

Stacy looked like she was about to protest but then I said “It will be much easier to travel in wolf form to the pick location don't you think?” Ory sighed and then said

“Xo darling you could easily leave now there's no need to delay”

“But it would be easier for the 3 of us this way”

“UGGGGH fine you're lucky I love you I will personally come to get you then.”

“Okay, Oris what do you want us to do?” Stacy finally cut in giddily 

“I want You both to meet me 80 miles of the Western border patrols aren’t as frequent between the hours of 12 pm and 3 am so you have a large window of opportunity.”

“What should we pack?” I asked nervously because I wanted to ask him about Zari

“Pack lightly I have enough money to provided for the 4 of us so there's no need to worry”

“The 4 of us?” Stacy and I asked in unison a bit confused.

He laughed before he spoke again
