Chapter 16: Shen Baiyu started to act like her true self

As they walk together towards the main tent, the soldiers stared at the trio in fascination.

Each of them knows their identities. Most have seen Moli as she usually came to the soldiers' camp for her own training. With only a glance, the soldiers knew that the one wearing a silver face mask with 1/2 her face covered by a veil is Captain Shen's infamous second younger sister. The large young miss walking next to her with a wide smile on her face is Prime Minister Xiao's only daughter. Still... They wonder why on earth the two privileged young misses of the two most prominent families in the capital doing in their training camp?

"You girls are here this early? This is quite surprising."

As soon as they heard the voice of their captain, they immediately continue their own training. Moli mockingly smiles at those familiar faces. These soldiers are quite curious with new arrivals for sure. After all, one is still engaged to the crown prince and one is engaged to the second prince. Of course, their identities are intriguing to others. Especially the appearance of the infamous reclusive eldest miss Shen.

Captain Shen Yili greets them with a smile. He is obviously happy seeing his second younger sister who used to be such a recluse is out and about lately.

Xue Ke Ai cheerfully greets Captain Shen Yili with a slight curtsy, "Xue Ke Ai greets Captain Shen. Please pardon my intrusion."

"Nonsense... A friend of Baiyu is a friend of mine too. Knowing that you are younger than her, you can just call me older brother. There is no need to be so formal with each other."

Xue Ke Ai giggles happily. Growing up with her brothers who are blessed with beautiful looks even as a man made her thought that all men are supposed to look like her brothers. Seeing the infamous captain face to face made her realize that not only he is quite handsome with his somewhat tanned skin, he oozes manly confidence and power too. Royal sister Rouran is indeed a lucky woman to be married to this handsome yet manly captain.

Shen Baiyu noticed that Xue Ke Ai is staring at her older brother in awe. This 'dumpling' is just like her. They enjoy looking at beautiful people. When she first woke up in this ancient time, she has to admit that the general and the captain are indeed a fine specimen for a man. Too bad that they're biologically related to the original owner of the body. The kind but handsome Bai Zhishi is her younger sister beloved fiancé. That guy with a slight tendency of stalking her is definitely handsome and possess a beautiful smile. What was his name again? Moran... Yes, Moran.

But, the older brother and younger brothers of the adorable 'dumpling' standing next to her are definitely good looking too. First young master Xiao is quite handsome but he is too serious and proper. Third young master Xiao is quite a beautiful young man but, as an experienced one, she noticed that he is not what he portrayed himself to be. In other words, he is someone to be cautious of. If she meets him in modern times, she will, in a heartbeat offer him to work with her. The youngest master Xiao is quite a baby face looking young man, but he is quite protective towards the adorable 'dumpling'. But, when she decided to form a close relationship with her, she too decided that her brothers are off-limits for her. She should steer clear from creating troubles in between the two families which are equally important for this kingdom.

"Older brother, can we start? I do not wish to train under the hot glaring sun..."

Captain Shen Yili laughs when he heard her words, "Baiyu, you seem to hate the sun..."

"I do not hate it but the heat of the sun is quite bad for the skin and it will cause premature ageing too, but early morning sun is good as a Vitamin D source though."

Captain Shen Yili together with Moli and Xue Ke Ai look at her questioningly. They can only conclude that she is still affected by her previous predicament.

"As this the first day for both of you. I will teach you on basic movements first. First. You need to warm up your body. Baiyu, you can first teach second miss Xiao how to properly warms up her body. I will come back after 1/2 an hour to check on both of you. Moli, watch them."

"Yes, young master."

"Moli, take us both to a place far from those prying eyes of the soldiers. It is not appropriate for us to be exercising in front of the soldiers."

"Of course, eldest miss. Do follow me."

Moli then leads them behind the main tent where it is quite a distance from the main training ground for the soldiers. And, the area itself is surrounded by bamboo trees. Shen Baiyu finds herself to be quite at ease in this area where the air is quite refreshing and cool. The sounds of the bamboo leave rustling due to the morning wind is quite calming as well. She smiles and takes a deep breath while closing her eyes.

Example of warm-up exercises used by Shen Baiyu.

"Second miss Xiao... We will start doing warm-up exercises. First, do some jump as if we are doing rope jumping."

She started to jump for 15 seconds and Xiao Ke Ai follows suit too. But due to her body, she is having a slight difficulty in jumping but she perseveres until she is done. Moli claps her hands in encouragement.

"Secondly, another 15 seconds of jumping using your arms too."

Living a life fully pampered by her family members started to take its toll of Xue Ke Ai. By now, she started to breathe rather heavily because she is starting to get tired.

"Do it in your own pace. Breathe in... Breathe out..."

When they are done with the second step, Shen Baiyu lets Xiao Ke Ai catches up her breath.

"Thirdly, run in a place with your feet nearly touches the back part of your body. Run! Run! Run! Breathe... Stop. Take a deep breath..."

"Eldest miss Shen, can we stop for a while..."

"No. We have to continue to our last step. Run but this time, let your knees be of the same level as your waist level while running in a place. Breathe... Hold on... Continue and stop... While still standing in your place, take a deep breath. Inhale... Exhale... Inhale... Exhale..."

Moli saw how tired the second miss Xiao is but she continues with determination throughout the warm-up exercises. Her young miss is still doing alright because these last few days, she has been diligently exercising on her own in her courtyard. The complexion on her face is getting better too.

As Xue Ke Ai is panting out of breath, Shen Baiyu gently pats on her back, "The first day will always be the hardest. Continue... Do not stop middle way."
