Chapter 15: Is this hell?

CHAPTER 15: IS THIS HELL?

As early as 4 o'clock in the morning, Shen Baiyu already wakes up and warms her body up with body stretching exercise. Moli is a bit surprised with her new routines but said nothing, she then instructed the other maidservants to prepare warm water for her bath while she prepares training outfit for her mistress.

Shen Baiyu is left all alone to do whatever she is doing in her courtyard. Seeing that her maidservants are busy doing their chores, she then continues to do a few weightlifting exercises to work on her pampered muscles. She is focusing on her arms muscles before continuing to 10 minutes of running for her legs. By the end of her routines, she is sweating like a pig. This body definitely needs a major overhaul.

When Moli saw that she is done, she immediately gives her a small towel for her to wipe her sweat off. Shen Baiyu just stands there silently to cool her body down before asking for a cup of warm water from Moli. It is a habit of hers to start her day by doing exercise routines before drinking a glass of warm water before she eats her breakfast. Her day usually starts with a fulfilling meal with a light meal during lunch. She rarely takes dinner too. She continues that habit of hers here but, so far, no one questions her. Which is good because she hated to be interrogated by others.

She then takes her bath before changing into the outfit that has been prepared by Moli earlier which is a simple white coloured outfit. She then takes a hat without a veil for her to wear. Moli gives the box containing the silver mask that she has bought yesterday. She smiles as she looks at the intricate mask inside the box. She calmly wears her silver mask securely ties its string to a secure knot.

Once she is satisfied that the mask will not easily come off of her face, she then continues to wear a white-coloured face veil that covers the bottom half of her face. The mask itself definitely did not cover much but enough to trigger curiously from those who will see her face. With the face veil, the intriguing aura of mystery is still there. She continues to tie the strings with the same kind of knot that she had used earlier for the silver mask. This kind of knot is very strong yet secure but easy to untie by the wearer.

Once she is done, she then wears her hat... After all, older sister is really particular when it comes to taking care of her skin. Hence, why she asks Moli to bring some rose-scented cream along with them. She can moisturize her hands if its too dry, and her skin will smell nice too. Xiao Ke Ai needs to be taught about these too. After all, having youthful skin is highly beneficial especially for women regardless of which era.

As she has taken her breakfast earlier in her own courtyard, she immediately gets into a prepared rosewood carriage for her and Moli so that they can picks Xiao Ke Ai. They arrive at the Xiao family manor a few minutes before 6 o'clock and, as she goes down from her carriage, the whole family is there to send the second miss Xiao to be her first ever physical training. Shen Baiyu, despite her calm expression, cannot help but feel impressed by the rest of the Xiao family members' love and care towards the adorable 'dumpling'.

"Baiyu greets Prime Minister Xiao, madames and young masters. The training will be done before noon. No worries, I will make sure that second miss will be just fine."

She elegantly curtsies before all of them before taking Xiao Ke Ai's hand and lead her to her personal carriage. She had personally earlier asked the stable to prepare the strongest horses for her carriage, and the servants in charge personally prepared 3 horses, 2 of them are black-coloured stallions with one white-coloured stallion as the lead horse. These horses are well known for their stamina, strength and speed. The second miss looks bubbly, but she has noticed that this young girl is quite insecure with her look and weight. The reason why she chose these 3 horses is solely for a smooth-sailing journey and for Xiao Ke Ai not to be too conscious with her own weight.

Third young master Xiao recognizes the horses that have been used by eldest miss Shen's carriage and he smiles, "Older brother, eldest miss Shen is quite attentive towards others. That horses are bred for their strength, stamina and speed. Even with heavyweights, it will not affect those horses in any way."

First young master Xiao then says, "That eldest miss Shen is definitely a changed person ever since she discovered that his royal highness wanted to break their engagement. She no longer shuts herself from the public."

Fourth young master Xiao then adds, "Did you guys notice her new appearance? The uncovered part of her face is so fair and smooth. I am confident that her look is definitely not mediocre as the rumours."

Prime Minister Xiao and his wives are watching carriage as it slowly leaves. They are listening to their sons' conversations too. They too, as elders, sincerely thought that eldest miss Shen is definitely not an ordinary young girl. The wise glint in her eyes is apparent for them to see. Her calm demeanour yet noble aura is quite obvious. Due to her words too, all the three families' patriarchs came in a group to personally ask forgiveness from the Xiao family with the full compensation amounts.

They even heard that when the representatives arrived at the Shen family manor, they are not allowed to come in but one of the maidservants came to take the compensation amounts from them before asking them to leave. From what they have been told, the eldest miss Shen personally instructed the guards guarding the gate door to stop anyone from those 3 families from entering the manor and the general just let it be. The Shen family members are definitely never the one to simply forgive and forget. Seems like the downfall of the 3 families will be inevitable after all. Eldest miss Shen really wanted them to pay dearly for what the young misses have done.

Within a short period of time, the carriage has arrived at its destination, the Shen family training ground. When all three of them come down from the carriage, Xiao Ke Ai looks as if she is regretting her decision.

Shen Baiyu looks at her adorable face with an equally adorable pouting mouth and says, "Ke Ai, from these days onwards both of us, will be trained by my older brother. We will be taught martial arts and how to use each weapon as well. You can choose which weapon do you want to master later in the training."

Shen Baiyu stands there before she further says, "Ke Ai, the start of something new will never be easy but once you've passed this, you will gain benefits for sure. It is not only about for the sake of your appearance. But you will build your strength and confidence as well."

Xiao Ke Ai then smiles at her and nods her head in agreement. After all, she wanted to be a worthy person to be by her fiancé's side. She will make him proud of her. With that simple thought of hers, her determination is re-surfacing.

Shen Baiyu looks at her and thought, "Ke Ai... You are lucky to be engaged by a good prince. The owner of the body is definitely not as lucky as you are."
