~CAMILLA
"What?!"
My heart sank deep within my ribcage. My eyes went beyond wide as I glared at them. My breathing increased and I felt my body begin to tremble.
For a moment, I was dumbfounded as I could not make sense of anything. I could not tell if it was their audacity or my helplessness that had me speechless.
"Marry you, Lucien?" I demanded.
Lucien tilted his head at me as he blinked multiple times. Liam coughed at my words and Lucas only scoffed.
"I'm afraid you did not understand what I meant. We were going to ask you to marry us. All three of us," Lucien corrected.
My mouth came open with shock and if it was big enough, it would have dropped to the ground. It felt like I was stuck in a dream because none of it made sense.
"Not one, but all three of you?" I muttered in shock.
They all nodded in unison.
I glared at them as if I had gone dumb. It was funny how the same supernatural creatures I hated for killing my parents were asking me to marry them and they thought that I was just going to accept it.
All I wanted to do was get as far away from them as I could. I hated all the lots of them yet these men stood here and had the audacity to ask me to marry them!
I suddenly broke into a peal of laughter. It was sarcastic but I carried it on. The triplets stared at me in confusion. They probably thought that I had gone mad.
Slowly, the laughter turned into a cry and I snapped. Enough was enough! I was not going to let anyone use me as they pleased!
I picked up a pillow since it was the closest thing to me. Then I launched it at them. They ducked immediately and I would have commended their reflexes but I was too busy grabbing the books I spotted on the bedside table.
I began to launch the hooks at them as well. The triplets stared at me with wide eyes and I could see that Lucas was mad with anger.
"What are you doing Camilla?!" Lucien yelled.
But I was too busy searching for things to launch at them. And when I found them, I wasted no time in raining it on them.
"Stop this madness this instant! Camilla!" Lucas roared with anger and I was almost moved by it but I regained my strength and continued attacking them.
I did not even care about my injury. It could go to hell or bleed out for all I care. I was beyond angry.
"You're hurting yourself, Camilla," Liam called as he dodged a lamp stand which I sent his way.
"Stay the f**k away from me you bastards! I don't want anything to do with your kind!" I screamed.
I found another book and launched it at them. It hit Lucas and he let out an animalistic roar. I flinched but still picked up the bedside table itself since I had emptied all its contents.
I launched it at Lucas and it would have hit him had it not been for Lucien who shielded his brother at the eleventh hour. He let out a groan in pain and I panicked.
There was nothing else to throw at them.
"Look what you did to my brother! Human!" Lucas roared.
Since I could not think of any other defense, I made a run for the door.
"Get her! Stop her! Liam!" Lucien ordered.
My eyes went wide with shock as I saw him coming for me. I turned my gaze to the doorknob. All I had to do was get outside and I believed that I would be safe from them.
My heart was hammering against my chest now. But as my hand closed on the doorknob, Liam grabbed me.
"Let me go! You beast! Release me!" I screamed as I thrashed against his hold.
"Hush! I'm not an enemy! You've started bleeding again," Liam called in a small voice.
But I was too angry and terrified to see reason. I bit his hand hard and Liam cried out in pain. He lost his hold on me and I was about to run again when Lucas blocked my only escape route.
There was something about the way he glared into my eyes with his dark orbs. I felt as if he was trying to pull me in and steal my soul. I suddenly felt cold again and I subconsciously ran back to Liam who caught me immediately.
When I realized what had happened, I screamed.
"Let me go! Release me! Stay away from me you monsters! Let me go!" I screamed and resumed thrashing around.
Despite all my struggles, Liam still held me down. This time, he hugged me tight against his chest as he ran his fingers through my hair. I felt another hand patting my back gently and I figured that it had to be Lucien. Lucas though seemed to not care.
"You're only doing yourself more harm than good. Stop fighting me, you're bleeding all over," Liam whispered into my ears as I felt his hands playing with my hair.
The hand from Lucien that was on my back felt so warm. It gave me another sense of security and I could not help myself.
I immediately started crying as I realized that there was no escape for me.
"Let me go! I just want to go home! Release me," I cried.
My resolve had weakened completely and I could not fight them anymore. I began to feel myself going pale again. My vision started to blur and the pain from my injury finally kicked in.
Just when I thought that it was finally over, Lucien hit me with the next bomb.
"Don't get me wrong, we don't just go around asking random girls to marry us. We're asking you to marry us because you're out mate," he concluded and his last word echoed in my head over and over again.
Mate.
