~CAMILLA
"You are our mate," Liam added softly.
If I had thought that I had seen it all in one night, then I was wrong. I was yet to and I felt there was more coming for me.
Could this day get any worse than it already had?
And it did.
Pain suddenly shot through my body, originating from my stomach. It burned the pit of my stomach and I could not bear it. I cried out in pain and doubled over.
"s**t! Get the doctor, Lucas! We can't lose her!" I heard Lucien order.
The pain hit me hard again and I fell back fortunately into Lucien's arms. He held me protectively as he looked down at me with worried eyes.
My body began to tremble as I writhed in pain. Tears escaped my eyes within seconds and I could not stop crying.
"It hurts. . ." I muttered.
Liam held my hand protectively and I welcomed the warmth that came with his body. It was soothing and it somehow reduced the pain even if I could not scientifically explain it.
I heard Lucas race out of the room in a panic and I continued to cry from the pain. Lucien held my cheeks with his warm hands.
"You can bare this. You're strong. Just hang on a little longer," Lucien assured me.
More pain hit me and I thought I was probably going to die. My vision began to blur and I could hardly hear sounds around me.
"Stay with us, Camilla," I heard Liam say.
The worry in his eyes for me warmed my heart. It was almost as if they truly cared for me which seemed quite impossible. I had only met them today or did this have anything to do with the werewolf ways?
"Camilla?" Another voice joined me as I felt hands lift me off the ground.
My singlet was pulled up and I felt the bandages get torn off my body. I figured this new person was the doctor.
"Don't worry Camilla. You're in safe hands. By the time you wake up, you'll feel even better," He assured me.
The fear of dying came upon me again. As darkness began to creep in, I felt cold and my body began to vibrate with fear.
"I'm scared. . ." I managed to say before the darkness completely crept in and blocked everything out.
"You're not alone anymore," One of the triplets echoed into my ear and I could not tell who it was that had said it.
My dream was void and dark. I felt lonely and cold. I felt scared and eventually, I saw the light. When I followed it, I gasped awake.
I tried to sit up immediately but hands stopped me. "I'll advise against that," Liam said.
I glared at him strangely. He looked like he had not slept in days. I exhaled sharply and tried to speak.
"I want to sit up," I muttered.
He sighed and helped me do as I wished. He placed a pillow behind my back to make me more comfortable. "How's that?" He asked.
I nodded at him. As if on cue, the other brothers walked into the room. They grabbed chairs and sat around me.
"I think it's time you understood exactly what is going on," Lucien began.
"You seem ignorant," Lucas added.
Instead, I glared at the men. A while ago, they had claimed that I was their mate effortlessly. How was it possible that of all humans in the Oakwood town, I happened to be the only unfortunate girl that was claimed as their mates? It made no sense.
Why me?
I was the one person who should have been at the bottom of their list. My hatred for werewolves was clear and visible. They had nothing to gain from me. Or did they?
Besides, how could I be the mate to all three of them? I thought one mate was assigned to one wolf. Did this have to do with the fact that they were triplets?
"Why am I your mate? Maybe you can start there," I questioned as I glared at all three of them.
Only Liam had a smile on his face as he stared at me in amusement. His blond hair fell over his face as he watched me.
Maybe in another life, if we had not met under these circumstances, I could have imagined the possibility of making it work.
The three of them shrugged. "No one ever has the answer to that question. We don't have control over it," Lucien stated.
"Then who does? Why me of all people? I'm just a human. Why aren't you mated to a werewolf?" I demanded as I was getting impatient.
"There is no answer to that question and there is no reason for you to feel special about it. Now just shut up and listen to the reason why we want to marry you," Lucas cut in. He was rude and as cold as always.
My eyes lit up at the thought of information. That would make me feel better if I understood what was going on around me.
"Why do you want to marry me? What is the reason behind it? Why must you get married in the first place?" I bombarded them with questions.
"Take it easy, impatient Kitten. Just listen to Lucien speak. He'll explain everything," Liam cut in with a chuckle. His amusement only increased and I wondered why.
I also noticed that he had called me a Kitten. Was that supposed to be cute?
"The thing is this. We are kind of sick if we put it that way," Lucien began.
I furrowed my brows at him and I wanted to ask him how that was my problem but I decided to remain quiet as that would seem rude. So I exhaled sharply and glared at the beautiful yet annoying triplets before me.
"Well?" I asked as I realized Lucien was taking forever to speak. I saw pain flash over his golden eyes before he looked away immediately.
"You are the cure," he stated.
