Bella Thompson sighed as her eyes moved to the clock on the wall. The office was still a hive of activity even though it was already past seven in the evening. The Blackwood Enterprises team was under extreme pressure, preparing for the appointment of a new CEO. Sophia Martinez, the head of marketing, made sure everything was perfect. “Alright, team, let's make this happen!” Sophia’s voice was filled with determination. “We must ensure that the introduction of the new CEO is flawless. Bella, how is the presentation coming along?” She looked up from her computer screen tiredly but focused. “Almost done, Sophia; just some minor adjustments.” Sophia nodded approvingly. “Good job, everybody; we are almost there.” Rachel Adams, the junior Secretary of Blackwood Enterprises, approached Bella’s desk with a puzzled look on her face. “Bella, do you know anything about the new CEO?” I heard he is the only heir of our former chairman. However, nobody knows his appearance? Do you think he will be nice, like our former chairman was? Bella smiled faintly. “I hope so, Rachel. Change can be hard, but let us stay positive.” “I just hope he treats us well, like the former chairman always does.” She added, hopefully. While the day took off, the team spent a lot of time editing and altering things to have everything as it should be. By the end, Bella was feeling completely drained. She stretched her arms and breathed out heavily. “Finally”, she muttered. “I need some rest”. Bella decided to visit Jake, her boyfriend. She wanted to unwind and tell him what happened during the day at work. Driving to his apartment, thoughts of the new CEO and a hectic day at work filled her mind. However, when she approached Jake’s door, she noticed that it was slightly ajar. And a lady shoes was at the door entrance of his apartment. Bella got suspicious. With a frown on her face, Bella pushed the door open and stepped in. The vision that met her eyes made her heart stop beating for a moment. There he was with Samantha, her step-sister, in an unbelievable s****l position, pounding her so hard. While the other was busy screaming. “Jake!” Bella's voice shivered with shock and dismayed. “How could you do this to me?” “How could you sleep with my stepsister?” Guilt and surprise came upon Jake and Samantha who quickly moved away from each other. In panic, Jake rose suddenly, with his eyes very expressive of panic. “Bella, I… I can tell you what happened.” Tears started welling up in Bella’s eyes as she took one step back as her heart fell apart. “Tell me?” “Explain what, Jake! I believed in you; I loved you; is this how you repay me, after everything?” Samantha half-nakedly leaned against an old blanket covering the rest of her body. “Bella, where are your manners?” Aren't you supposed to knock before you come in? Her voice raised pitch in fury; she shouted back at Samantha. “Aren't you ashamed of yourself?” “How could you speak so unreasonably, after sleeping with your sister's boyfriend?” “How could you do this to me?” Desperation was shown by Jake through his desperate look in his eyes that were outstretched towards her. “Bella, please let us talk about this; it was a mistake.” Bella shook her head and choked on these words while talking. “A mistake”? “How can you call that a mistake, do you take me for a fool?” Bella said tearfully. Jake, this isn’t just any mistake; “It’s betrayal, I can’t believe I ever trusted you.” As Jake tried to reach out his hand to Bella, Samantha stopped him with action. “Jake!” Samantha called out harshly. “Who is she to have made you tremble in fear?” “Can't you respect my presence here” Samantha continued. Not like you love her, so stop with the pretense and let's continue where we stopped. “It's okay if she could watch us perform” Samantha said heartlessly. Immediately, Jake was all over Samantha again, like he was charmed. Without minding the presence of Ella in the room. “Jake, Jake!” How dare you do this to me? “Don't you feel bad for how you treated me?” Bella asked with bitterness in her heart. “Bella!” Jake called out loud. “Why are you causing a scene here?” Jake asked, trying to move closer to Bella. Immediately Bella turned back to leave the room, Samantha broke the silence by clearing her throat. “Anyway, if you're that curious to know when this has been going on for, it's some weeks after you got into a relationship with Jake” Samantha finally said. “Babe, do you really have to tell her that?” Jake asked while throwing a kiss at Samantha. “So she could focus and not try hard to get you back”. They both laughed out loud. Bella’s cheeks were wet, and she wiped her tears furiously as she left the apartment angrily. She rushed to her car and her mind raced with various thoughts. How could they betray her like this? Bella drove roughly, like she was being chased. She couldn't stop thinking about what had just happened, and she felt like she needed to clear her mind. She was unable to go home, as the pain was too much for her to bear. The only thing she could do was to go to that one place where she could divert her mind for sometime without thinking of what had happened, and that's a bar in the other side of the city.
