I watched and waited.
I was asked all sorts of questions on arrival.
They didn't ask me the one question I was waiting for.
“ Are you hungry?”
I leaned on the desk of the facility owner.
She tensed up.
I scoffed.
“ You're scared?”
She sat right and straightened her coat.
“ I'm hungry.”
She stared at me.
I did too.
No one blinked.
After a minute or two, a doctor walked into the office.
Our little game was disrupted.
I turned to look at the person.
I saw the name tag.
“Lara Clark.”
I got up slowly.
I was hungry and I could pass out any minute.
“ You're Lara Clark?”
She frowned.
I slowly walked around her.
People always said I have a very deathly aura.
When I first heard it, I thought they couldn't spell.
I thought it was supposed to be deadly.
Until a guy said I have the aura of death.
Funny right.
“ I have been meaning to see you.” I said.
She smiled at me
“ Let's talk then.”
I paused.
“ Do you know why I agreed to come to this facility?”
She shook her head.
“ I came to kill you.”
The owner’s pen dropped.
“Cinematic isn't it? “
I thought and smiled.
But she was not afraid.
I know.
She thinks I'm a joke.
Lara laughed.
“ I think it's time for you to go for a correction.”
I walked towards her and looked her in the eye.
Then I saw it.
I smelled it.
She was afraid.
Her eyes trembled.
Her body was tense.
Most importantly, the veins on her neck strained.
I smiled at her.
“ You won't die now.”
I moved away from her.
“ Food?”
I nodded
