The rest of the day didn’t progress any better than the morning had, but I was determined to make sure that I didn’t allow it to affect the way that I was feeling, to affect the way that I was treating the customers who were coming in and out of the store—because that was what was happening. The fact that I had decided to open the store as a last minute decision meant that I was only able to serve coffee, and drinks, but the way that I saw it was that that was better than nothing.
