As I made my way down the staircase, I couldn’t help but to think about the fact that they had simply left, and somehow they had managed to do so without needing me to unlock my front door. It was just one more thing that I would need to add to the list of things that I didn’t understand, the list of things that I didn’t have answers for—a list of things that I wasn’t likely to get answers for, either.
