Oliver POV
I looked ahead and saw Sophia playing around in the water as I sat on sand with a beer. She was completely drenched, that hot bikini making her look irresistible.
I was really wrong in the beginning. I never noticed her that much. The lively soul in front of me was completely different from the woman I met the first time.
Flashback.
I sat in my office and waited for the girl. She walked in and I took one look at her from top to bottom and was okay with it. I just needed someone to be my wife, to make my stake in the company permanent. Greg was going to hand over the business to me, but his parents who were big business magnets wanted to be sure that the business would lie in my family. So I had to marry. I thought I could marry someone for a year to convince them and then divorce her. They can't really say anything. And then when I find the right woman I'll settle down and have kids and they can continue what I've built.
She smiled at me nervously and I gestured her to sit in front of me.
Her brown hair was in a bun, she wore a blazer that was too loose along with a skirt that was too long. I was a little hesitant now that I analyzed her.
She seemed.....simple. Naive.
"Sophia, right?" I asked and she nodded, biting her lip, slightly distracting me. I then noticed how plump her lips were.
"Sophia why did you agree to this?" I asked her.
She seemed like the kind of girl who believed in fairytales and s**t. It was wrong to judge, but I couldn't help it.
"To be honest, I need the money" she said and I already knew the story.
She was an exceptional law student struggling to pay for the last year of college, her brother was in the hospital, her dad left her a bucket load of debt. What I was proposing to her was literally a dream.
"Well Sophia, as my assistant already explained it to you. We will be married for a year. We will have no relationship whatsoever, you are free to live as you like- only one condition you'll have to live in my house. Don't worry you'll have your own room and stuff. The money will transferred to your account every month, but the hospital bills of your brother will be paid immediately. There will be times when I will need you to accompany me to parties and stuff. Otherwise, it's almost like living in a hotel. I won't be a bother"
"Alright" she nodded.
"Looks like you've made up your mind" I say, feeling bad for her. She had such a bright future, her grades were excellent. Everybody around her only had good things to say about her. I had done my entire background check on her. She seemed trustworthy, she seemed like she would mind her own business and that's what I wanted. I could see that beneath the innocence lay a strong, smart, independent woman and I instantly respected her.
Present day.
She walked back to the sand and I handed her a towel and she started to dry her hair before wiping her body. She slept on the bed and I joined her on the one next to hers'
"You'll get funny tan lines" I said.
"Should I just remove it then?" She teased. I had never seen this side of her. I liked it.
"Go ahead, please" I said checking her out once and she just blushed and threw the towel at me.
"Oliver"
"Hmm"
"What was the first thing you thought about when you saw me?"
"Unique"
"I like that" she replied and looked into my eyes.
Sophia POV.
"Do you have siblings?" I asked sleeping sideways looking at him.
The umbrella covered us from the the remaining rays of sunshine as the sun was almost about to set.
"No. I don't know who my parents are"
"What?"
"Yeah. I was brought up in a foster home. Many actually. Thankfully they were kind to me. I was a silent kid. I minded my own business, worked hard in school, got good grades and kept to myself. When you come from nothing, the desire to succeed is crazy. I got a scholarship, went to Yale where I studied business and also met Greg. And we started the business and it clicked. It did really well." He said, as he looked ahead at the sea. I could see the glimmer in his eyes as he spoke about his life. I never knew this. My heart filled with pride and I ran my hand over her face making him turn to face me.
I got up form my bed and joined him in his. We hugged each other and I looked at him proudly. My respect for him grew by bounds. It made me sad that he didn't know who his parents were. His childhood was not normal or great but he didn't let that affect him. It drove him harder to make him the man he is today. That's when I realised, how he was to others, to those less fortunate. He treated everyone with respect, I have never seen him yell at someone, the helpers at home, or his guards, I Driver's or his employees at the office. Because he too was in their shoes years ago. My eyes watered as I looked at him.
"Did I make you sad?" He said, tucking hair behind my ear and running his thumb over my lips.
"I'm so proud of you." I said and kissed him.
He smiled at me genuinely, the first time I've seen him so relaxed and completely himself. I like this Oliver.
"How old are you?" I asked.
"How old do you think?"
"Umm..30?"
"34."
"Really? You look younger" I said surprised.
"Thank you?" He laughed. I felt his fingers draw circles on my back.
"I'm 25" I said.
"Quite a gap" he smirked.
"Not that it matters" I replied playfully.
"Oh it doesn't" he says and kisses me before burying his face into my breasts. He loves doing that and I too loved the feeling of warmth that spread across me when he did that.
"You're perfect, you know that" he said as he squeezed my breasts and kissed me once again.
