Chapter 19

Few weeks later... OLIVER POV "You look happy, my friend" Greg said as we both sat at his place drinking whiskey. Sophia and Anisha were walking around in the garden. "I am" I replied. "I'm glad bro" he said, smiling at me. In a long time, I felt fulfilled. Every time I looked at Sophia, my heart filled with warmth and pride. I'm a lucky man. Orphaned at the age of 8, I lived on the streets before going from one foster house to the other. Poverty drove the desire to stand on my own feet. I worked odd jobs at odd hours, nothing mattered more than success to me. I saw all the people around me. For me, money was everything. And I was hell bent on working until the day I had so much of it that I lost count. I worked hard, everyday, got good grades and joined a well known institution for high school. There I met Greg. His father was impressed with me and they made sure I stayed at their house and that's how Greg became my best friend, my brother. And his parents became my parents. In a way, they saved me. For the first time I had someone care about where I was, whether I was coming back home or not, whether I had eaten or not. It's not difficult to fall for the evil of greed and I that's exactly what happened. I chased after money so much that I lost out on everything. I never had any real relationship or friends other than Greg. I slept with every woman I liked. My life had turned meaningless, I had the money, I had the luxury, I had the women. But I didn't have anybody who loved me for me. Sure I had Greg and his family, but there was a part of me that yearned something that I never understood. That's until, Sophia came along. I looked at her and smiled as I saw her and Anisha drink wine and walk around. She looked so beautiful in the moonlit night. Her hair flowing, grazing her face sometimes. The blush on her cheeks, the pout of her lips..everything about her was perfect. Sophia gave me purpose. Before, I had everything but nothing. And then she came and my life felt complete. In the beginning I never noticed her or bothered because I didn't want to sleep around with her and ruin the one year contract so I promised myself that I would stay away. But how could I? Especially with such an exceptional woman like Sophia. I saw that she faced similar hardships like me growing up, but she never showed it. She was a hard worker and that impressed me. The way she was focused about her life and career blew me away. She wanted to be something and I was going to be there for her every second of the way. Her innocent looks, the way she walked daintily, the way she kept to herself and never bothered me surprised me and also intrigued me. I found myself looking at her more often in the beginning and until one day I couldn't deny it. I was attracted. I saw her walk up to me and she smiled before sitting next to me. I pulled her close and kissed her forehead. She showed her empty glass of wine and I chuckled as I fetched the bottle which was closer to my hand and filled her glass. "You know you look so beautiful" I whispered. She blushed and kissed my lips hastily. "Ahem ahem" I heard Anisha say. I pulled away but not before telling Sophia we would continue this at home. -X- few weeks later..OLIVER POV "Olly, how do I look?" She asked. I started to like her calling me Olly. I was annoyed at first because it sounded like a child's name but I let her call me that. I was wiping my face with the towel as I exited the bathroom when I saw her looking absolutely stunning in a black gown. "Sexy as hell" I said eliciting a giggle from her. "God you look so beautiful" I said as she turned around and I gave her a big nod of approval SOPHIA POV He walked to the closet and came back to me with a light blue box. "I got you something" he said. "What?" I asked curiously. "Okay close your eyes" I rolled my eyes at him before closing it. "You can open your eyes now" I opened my eyes and jaw dropped. There was a beautiful delicate diamond necklace. It was stunning. Before I could say anything, he turned me around and put it on me. "Woah, it looks great on you" "Oliver..." "Shhh" he stopped my words with his thumb as it placed on red tinted lips. He saw my eyes get teary and frowned. I threw my arms around him and hugged him tight. "Nobody has ever gifted me anything before. Thank you. It's beautiful" I say, admiring it. He cupped my face and said "I'm so happy you like it" "So what exactly are we going to? I know it's a huge party with all rich people" He chuckled at my description. I helped him wear his suit. He looked handsome and sexy in the black suit. "You look so delicious Oliver!" I teased. He looked at me surprised and pulled me into a kiss. "It's an awards ceremony" "Oh. It's going to be boring seeing people win awards. Why are we going again? We can stay at home and do a lot of other things" I said suggestively. He laughed as his hold on my waist got tighter. "Well...they're actually awarding me..." "What?!? And you tell me now!" "Yeah business person of the year" he said rolling his eyes. I slapped his arm annoyed. He looked surprised. I looked at him angrily until he pouted and I gave in. "I'm so proud of you" I said and kissed him hard on the lips.  -X- "And the business person of the year is, CEO of Black Enterprises Mr.Oliver Black" I got up with him and hugged him and gave him a big kiss. He kissed me on the cheek again before going up on the stage. He looked so happy, he was smiling widely. I was so proud that my eyes got teary. "There are a lot of people who contributed to this. Starting from Greg, my best friend, his parents...my employees around the world who work hard every day to make the company what it is. I started this company with an idea, but that's idea wouldn't have transformed into something this big without all of the people who have worked on all my projects ever. I owe it everyone of them" My eyes got moist as I saw him accept the award. He was so magnificent and the crowd roared at his speech. "He has never sounded so humble. That's all you" I heard Greg say next to me and I thank him. "All this accolades, money, fame, success, power means nothing...if you don't have someone to share it with...to keep you grounded...someone who reminds you to stay true to yourself, to who you are....And I am the luckiest man to have my wife Sophia in my life who is all that and more...." My breath hitched. "Baby there's nothing, absolutely nothing that ... I love more than you" he completed his sentence looking only and only at me, as the entire room erupted in cheers and applause. I was completely frozen. Did he just Confess his love To me In front of the whole world?
