Chapter Seven

Beauty p.o.v

"Why did he give you the card?" Bambi asked.

I was on the phone with her on my break at work.

"I don't know, is it bad that I actually paid everything off?" I asked.

"Girl hell nah, if you want send some of that money my way," She said.

I rolled my eyes at her. I actually couldn't believe Kai gave me his card and told me to pay everything off. I was grateful, but it still happened out of the blue. I walked to the cafeteria still talking on the phone with Bambi. She started yelling at one of her kids and I pulled my card out and gave it to the lady at the register.

"It declined," She said.

"Declined? Try again," I said.

How the f**k is my card declined? She rolled her eyes and slid my card again.

"It declined again," She said.

I remembered I had Kai's card still and I gave that to her.

"Try that one," I said.

She took the card and swiped it. That's when the receipt had printed off. Thank God. I took my lunch and had went to sit down.

"Bambi I'll call you later," I said.

"Alright bye girl," She said.

I hung up the phone then that's when Kai FaceTimed me. Ugh.

"What Kai?" I asked.

He had some nerve to do this on my damn break and his face wasn't even in the camera.

"Hold on!" He yelled.

That's when I heard the twins crying. I started to eat and a few moments he pooped up with them. They had on matching onesies that said "I have the number one daddy."

"I bought them today," he said.

He started smiling and they had started to fuss again. He left the camera and I started eating. It was cute how he bonded with the twins. Ever since he met them he could not stay away from them which I was lucky for. Don't get me wrong the twins were a blessing but having to wake up at two in the morning and then having work at five with only a few hours of sleep was stressful. He came back into the camera and I didn't hear their cries anymore.

"You look sexy in yo scrubs," he said.

I rolled my smiles as I smiled at him.

"Don't be tryna flirt yo way into my heart," I said.

"I can't compliment my friend?" He asked.

I hated how he used that word as an excuse for whenever he did something that a boyfriend would do.

"By the way I used your card mines had declined for some reason I'll pay you back tho," I said.

"Don't worry about it and you can keep that card," he said.

"Kai you have to stop doing this," I protested.

"You mean making sure my baby mama alright?" He asked. "I wasn't here for you during your pregnancy and you was with the babies by yourself for three months, I'm not go say sorry for making sure yo ass cool Beauty."

Before I could say anything my pager had went off.

"Yea well I gotta go, see you tonight," I said.

He chucked a deuces up then hung up. Unbelievable.
