Chapter Eight

Kai p.o.v I started putting rose petals on the floor leaving a trail to the bathroom. I had started a warm bubble bath for Beauty for whenever she got off work. Tonight was the night I was gonna make her mine. We've been spending a lot of time together especially with the kids. I knew she didn't want to be with me because of my career, but who gave a f**k about that. I grabbed the champagne and put it in a ice bucket. I heard the door open as I started to baste the chicken. She walked in the kitchen and stopped in her tracks when she seen me. I walked over to her and gave her a smile. "Kai, what the f**k is going on?" She asked. I didn't say anything. I just took her jacket off and picked her up and threw her over my shoulder. She started hitting my back. She kept asking question on top of question. I had put her down when we finally got to the bathroom. She had stopped talking and looked around. "Tonight is just us. I decided that my friend deserved a break," I said. "Where are the kids?" She asked. "At your sister's," I said. Her eyes had went wide. "Kai are you serious? She already has her own kids to watch." She tried to walk past me, but I grabbed her. "They're fine," I said. "Take ya clothes off and soak, I gotta go finish cooking." I had left the bathroom and went downstairs. Damn she stubborn as f**k. I don't know why she don't let anybody do anything for her for once. She already has a lot of s**t on her plate. After 40 minutes she came downstairs in the pajamas I had put for her. "Feel better?" I asked. "Maybe, maybe not," She said. She sat down at the island and I had set a plate in front of her. It was baked chicken, baked asparagus, and roasted potatoes. "You made this?" She asked. "Hell no, I hired someone," I said. She rolled her eyes and started to eat. We started talking and I learned stuff about her I never knew. She even told me about her childhood and her experience at college. "I hated it, but I'm grateful for the experience," She said. I smiled at her. "You know you so beautiful?" I asked her. She looked up at me and sighed. "Kai..." "You know you have no real reason for not being mine," I told her. She raised an eyebrow and scoffed. "I have plenty," She said. "Name one," I said. "Excluding that I'm in the game." It was silent for a couple of minutes until she finally spoke. "I guess I have no reason," She said. "Yea that's what I thought," I said. She rolled her eyes and I made her look at me. "Come on Beauty, you literally have nothing to lose," I said. "Okay Kai, I'll be yours," She said.
