Rose's POV:
We walked back inside to talk to my dad and aunt about what to do with the rouge vampire queen. Last, I knew my father was going to call the council because this was not something that we were permitted to handle on our own.
"Father," I said when we got back to my aunt's library. "Have you heard anything from the council?"
"Not yet, dear. I will be sure to tell you as soon as I hear back from them," he said.
"Thank you father," I said. "Has the b***h tried to contact you?"
"No, neither Josslynn nor Azalea have tried to contact me," he said. However, she did try to have someone infiltrate the palace since she thought we would all be here, he mind linked me.
Is she dumb? I asked using our mind link.
"Care to fill me in, princess," Andrew whispered.
Josslynn thought both my parents were here with us and tried to have someone infiltrate the palace. She didn't account for my mother still being at home and made a very big mistake, I told him using our separate mind link.
"Rose, I didn't realize you and the young Alpha had mated already," my father said.
"No, daddy. We aren't yet mated. It's just that his wolf is a direct descendant from the Vampire God and the Werewolf Goddess," I explained.
"Ah, that makes this a little more interesting then. And Andrew, I take it you are a direct descendant as well?" my father asked him.
"I'm not entirely sure, sir. I haven't had a moment to myself to speak to either my wolf or my mother about my lineage," Andrew said.
"Well, I'm sure your mother would like to talk to you. Why don't you go and call her? Rose will update you on anything else we discuss," my father said.
"Yes, sir, thank you," Andrew said as he left to go call his mom.
"Dad, has Elder Robert called you?" I asked him.
"He has. He's going to do what he can to keep Josslynn and Azalea in their home. He doesn't want either of them to try and plan another attack on our kingdom. We don't have the resources to properly protect our home until the wolves move in officially," my dad said.
I already knew that the wolves were having no problems with the interspecies merger, save a few of them, but it wasn't really a problem that we had to face right now. "Everything is going according to plan with mine and Andrew's plan with the merger and his mom is helping mom with the blueprints and the nursery is being expanded for both the young pups and vampires for when their parents are at work and/ or training. We even built a bigger orphanage for the unlucky ones who've lost their parents," I said.
"That's great love, I'm glad the merger is going according to plan," my father said. He's never given me praise before, so I'm not sure how to take it.
"Did I just hear my brother praise his rebel little princess," my aunt teased my dad.
"I know, right? He's never praised me before," I said.
"Rose, I'm so sorry. I never realized," my father said, very disappointed with himself. "I forget that you often need praise for a job well done. Please, forgive me babygirl."
"Daddy, it's okay. I learned from a young age that I don't need praise from the ones I care the most for just to know they love me," I said, reassuring him. "You and mom show me every day that you love me."
"Okay, sweetheart," my dad said.
With nothing left to discuss, I left to go find my mate. I'm sure he's probably in my room still talking with his mom. As I climbed the stairs to get to my room, I could hear him silently crying to whoever he was on the phone with.
"Love?" I asked, coming into my room, "What's wrong?"
"It's my grandfather. While he and some other wolves were helping build the extension to the palace, one of the vampires who didn't agree with the merger attacked him. He's in the hospital, but neither my doctor nor yours think he's going to make it," he said, the tears continuing to fall.
"Do they know who did it?" I asked, fearing the answer.
"He's been taken into custody. My mother didn't ask his name," he said. "She just asked one of the other vampires to contain him until we got back."
"Let me talk to her, love," I said. He handed me the phone after letting his mom know what he was doing.
"Ma'am, I am so sorry to hear about your father," I said, completely upset myself. "I'm sure my mother will handle the vampire who hurt him."
"Thank you, Princess. Our pack doctor is working with yours to hopefully get him stabilized. Your mother actually had the vampire put in the dungeons," she said.
"Mrs. Reynolds, please, call me Rose. And as for the vampire who purposely attacked a member of your pack without motive, he will be severely punnished. Please do me a favor and find out his name. I have a suspicion about who he is, but I need to have my suspicions confirmed before I come home. Andrew and I will meet you in my father's office in about four hours," I said.
"Rose, there's no need for that, give me just a moment to get his name," she said, putting me on hold.
"Andrew, please go and tell my father that an emergency has come back home and we need to leave," I told him politely.
"Of course, dear, I'll meet you on the jet?" he asked.
"Yes, dear, please?" I asked him.
"Rose," his mom said, coming back on the phone, "his name is Jason Kirk. Your mother said you had more information about his previous records."
"Yes, I do. We'll see you in roughly four hours ma'am. Please, until we arrive, go be with your father," I said, and ended our call. After changing my clothes, I headed down the stairs to say goodbye to my father and aunt before meeting Andrew on the jet.
"Daddy, Aunty, an emergency came up at home and Andrew and I are leaving now to handle it. I will call you when we land and give you the full details," I said, giving them both a quick hug and kiss before leaving.
As soon as Andrew and I were seated, the jet took off and we headed back to my kingdom and home.
"Andrew, I know that you'll want to stay with me, but your mother and grandfather need you more, I promise I will be okay. As soon as we land, you are to go with your mother to the infirmary and I will go and question the vampire who attacked your grandfather," I said, leaving no room for argument.
