CHAPTER 6 - The who?
" Gumising ka Diane! DIANE! DIANE!"
"What are you doing here you filthy brat! Ano ang karapatan mong pumunta dito?! Ha?! Ikaw ang dahilan kung bakit namatay si Diane! Ikaw ang pumatay sa kanya!!"
Patuloy sa pagtulo ang luha ko habang nakatingin sa bangkay ng kaibigan ko. She hung herself in her own bedroom.
Why did it end up like this?
Humagulgol na ako ng iyak at napaluhod sa sahig. I cupped my face with my hand while crying. I didn't know this would happen. I didn't know she wanted to be the top student so badly that she killed herself because she lost to me.
My chest feels like it's tearing apart and I tried to gasp for air.
" Diane, please comeback." I cried again as tears still flowing in my cheeks.
" Miss! Miss! Wake up!"
Nakaramdam akong may yumuyugyog sakin at may mahinang tumatapik sa mukha ko gamit ang basang kamay. My mind is still in haze and I can barely breath. Napaubo ako ng ilang beses bago binuksan ang aking mga mata. Catching my breath, nakita kong may lalaking nakaluhod sa harap ko while he's cupping my face with his both hand. He looked so worried.
I stared at him for a moment until I realize that his face is inches away from mine kaya bigla ko syang nasuntok sa mukha. He screamed and he touched his handsome face. Pati ako nagulat din sa ginawa ko.
"Damn! Ako na nga tumulong tapos ito lang igaganti mo?" singhal nya sakin.
" Sino ka?!!"
" I'm your knight with no shining armor. Ayos ka lang ba?" he asked me with full of concern.
" Paano ka nakapasok dito?!!"
" Wala na bang masakit sayo?"
" Magnanakaw ka ba?!!"
" Mukhang okay ka na nga. Sige tatawagin ko muna si Vlad." he didn't answer my question instead he went inside the house to fetch them. Napahawak ako sa saking ulo. I tried remembering what happened earlier at naalala kong tinapon pala ako ni Vlad sa pool.
I swear I'm gonna kill him!
Tumatakbong bumalik ang lalaki kasama na si Vlad. Dumating na rin ang ibang maids at may dala pa silang stretcher. Seriously?
Tumingin ako kay Vlad and finding him shocked of what happened. I really hate him. I can't believe he nearly killed me just because of his research. Buhay ko pala ang kapalit sa research nya? Ganun ba sya kababaw mag isip? I know it's my fault that he got angry pero tama bang itapon ako sa pool dahil hindi ako marunong lumangoy?
Lumapit sakin si Vlad with his worried face. At nagiguilty sya ngayon sa ginawa nya?
"DAMN YOU VLAD!" I yelled at him. Galit talaga ako sa kanya.
Suddenly he grabbed my arm and slammed my face to his chest.
I was stunned of what he did. Niyakap nya ako?
" I'm sorry. I'm really sorry." he sincerely said to my ears.
Nakatulala parin ako. Never in a million years that he would hugged me like this! And he's saying sorry! Tinulak ko sya ng marahas kaya napaupo sya sa sahig.
" You nearly killed me earlier tapos mag sosorry ka lang?"
" Eh ano ang gusto mong gawin ko? Halikan ka pa?" I thought he would make me feel better dahil may kasalanan din sya sakin pero hindi. He's more arrogant than ever!
" Just die asshole."
Tumayo akong mag isa dahil walang balak tumulong ang mga maids sakin. Hindi man lang ako tinulungan ng mga bodyguards habang nalulunod ako kanina? They really want me dead by getting drown? Hinablot ko na rin ang tuwalyang hawak ng maid dahil parang wala silang balak na ibigay sakin to.
I took a glance at the stretcher. "Dyan nyo ilagay si Vlad kung sakaling sinunod nya ang gusto ko."
Ibinalot ko ang sarili ng tuwalya bago umalis sa pool area at iniwan sila. I went in my bedroom and change my wet clothes. My room is still a mess kaya naisipan ko na lang pumunta sa guest room. Lying in the soft mattress, I cried in the bed loudly not minding anyone who could hear me.
Ibinuhos ko na lahat ng emosyon ko. I'm so angry and sad. This is just too much. And the incident that happened to Diane seven years ago appeared in my mind earlier, that was too painful. I wanted to forget that type of memory but I just can't.
I cried the whole time I was awake before I fell asleep.

After taking a shower, I went to my mother's office as soon as possible. I need to get revenge with that genius jerk. What he did yesterday is so unforgivable.
I can't forgive him!
I slammed my mother's desk and her attentions shifted on me. " I'm done with this suspension time mother. Tell the Rector's I'm going back to school tommorow."
" Your suspension time is not done yet. It's just the second day and you're giving up already?"
It's just a day but it made me miserable already. I bet she never knew I was nearly drowned yesterday but she never cared.
" I don't care. I know you can deal with it, in your own possible way. And you don't need to hire a tutor. You know what I'm capable of so it's pointless of hiring one. "
Napatuwid sya ng upo at tinignan ako ng masinsinan.
" I can't just do what you want. It's your punishment so you deal with it."
" I'm bargaining with you."
I'm betting with my life just to get revenge. This is the first time I'm doing this.
She looked at me seriously as if she's not surprise with my preposition. Even though this is the first time that I'm bargaining with her.
"I can't trust you." she said.
I rolled my eyes. That's a given fact. She never trust me. " Then make a contract. As easy as that. I can break promises but I never broke a contract." I told her. I'm good in dealing with business matters, that's why they want me to handle our business but I prefer not dahil ayokong saktan si kuya.
" What's your deal then?" she raised a brow and I smirked a little. She's giving it a try, eh?
" Firing that tutor and stop this suspension time. Then I'll behave." sagot ko sa kanya but she never budge a little. She was not impressed by my preposition.
" That's all? Your proposal doesn't interest me so I won't agree." she said then motioned her hand to dismissed me.
" I will ace the exams!" Crap! WHY THE HELL IS THAT?
This time napatingin sya sakin ulit. I saw her lips curved a little. Oh gosh. I got the wrong magic word.
" Still, that doesn't benefit me miss. What can I gain if you ace the exam? That doesn't satisfy me at all."
Whaaat?
" But that's the biggedt card I have!"
" Then try harder for choosing the best one."
I gritted my teeth. " Fine! You can do whatever you want with me before the suspention time is over." I answered. I hope this works because this is the only option I have. And the only option she will accept.
" Deal."

" Just show me the contract so I can sign it." wika ko at tinalikuran sya.
I hate competing with people but this time, I think I'm going to do it. I need to get back and ace my academics.
" Wait." she said, I stopped on my track and look at her behind. " We are having a dinner tonight with the VIP's in our Minami Residence. Don't forget to wear your best dress. Some of your cousins will be there too. "
I just shrugged at tuluyan nang umalis as office nya. Minami Residence is a place where only family of lawyers lived. Every household has a lawyer in each family and my father is a lawyer that's why we are accepted in this subdivision.
Minami Residence holds a dinner everyweek to it's every VIP members. It's a dinner to show who's more successfull, has a more money and who's the most powerful. Those people are just pathetic.
Hindi ko kayang sikmurain ang ginagawa nila.
I ran in the hallway of the mansion when I saw someone's shadow near the stairs. I recognized it's a guy's shadow and he's holding something but I can't assume what it was.
Habang papalapit sa hagdan ay naaninag ko ang mukha nya. He's evily smiling and he's holding a knife! Napasigaw ako dahil sa takot.
Narinig nya akong sumigaw kaya lumapit sya sakin. I screamed again nang sinubukan nya akong hawakan. Is he going to kill me? Napapikit na lang ako at baka gusto nya akong saksakin. Wala akong laban sa kutsilyo!
" Miss okay ka lang?!" nag aalalang tanong nya.
Wait- I recognized that voice. Napamulat ako at tinignan ang mukha ng lalaki. He's the one who saved me in the pool!
" It's you!"
" Yes, I'm your knight with no shining armor again. Anong nangyari sayo? Nasaktan ka ba?"
" What are you doing?!!" I yelled at him. I nearly had a heart attack dahil sa kanya.
" I'm playing with my little sister at hinihintay ko sya dito sa gilid ng hagdan."
" Why are you holding a knife?!"
" It's just plastic, you silly. It's for kids."
" Then why are you smiling so evily in the dark?" bigla syang tumawa sa sinabi ko. May nakakatawa ba dun?
" I'm just smiling but not evily. "
But I swear I saw his evil smile! I bet guni guni ko lang nga yun.
" Bakit kasi nasa madilim na parte ng hagdan ka nakatayo?!"
" Am I being interrogated? Ang dami mong tanong. By the way okay na ba?" I stood straight dahil nakabaluktot pala ako dahil sa gulat kanina.
He's so kind simula nang niligtas nya ako. Napakurap ako ng ilang beses dahil natulala ako sa mukha nya. Ang gwapo nya pala.
" H-Ha?"
" May masakit pa ba sayo? Bakit namumula ka?" hinawakan nya ang noo ko kaya nanigas ako sa kinatatayuan ko.
The f**k. My heart is beating so fast.
