Susan
Susan felt her eyelids flutter and became aware of people speaking nearby, but it was hard to make out the words. When she finally managed to open her eyes fully, she was assaulted by a bright light and immediately closed them again, raising her arm to cover her face.
“Doctor Wallis, Susan is waking up.” Came a female voice from above her head. Susan recognised the voice but couldn’t place it.
“Are the lights too bright?” the voice asked, this time closer to her ear. All Susan could do was nod, her throat being too dry to speak.
She heard the woman’s voice again, “Zeus, can you dim the lights please.” After a moment, the voice sounded near her ear again, “Susan, try opening your eyes now.”
