After Jace had carried Susan inside the ship, Kade just wrapped his arms around Philippa and held her tightly to his chest. Her arms wrapped around his waist as she rested her head against his chest. They both took a few deep breaths, just trying to savour the closeness now that the panic was over and the president, no ex-president, had been taken away.
Giving Philippa one final squeeze, Kade released his hold of her and took her hand in his, before turning to face Troy and Shelley.
Troy addressed them before Kade could speak, “I will need to go and deal with him. I will leave Shelley in your care until I can return and she can ascertain your supply needs. You do know what needs to be done, don’t you?”
Kade nodded, “I will fill in for the captain whilst he takes care of Susan.
