The airlock opened and Jace had to hold in his laughter when he saw Dolores rush out of the ship and throw herself at Private Fischer. He didn’t even think Fischer heard him when Jace dismissed him. Turning back to the airlock, Jace’s smile beamed when his eyes caught sight of Susan walking towards him with Philippa and Lucille.
He caught a glimpse of Kade dashing towards the women and lifting Philippa into the air before kissing her passionately. Although he glimpsed his brother’s behaviour, Jace was mesmerised by Susan as she got ever closer to him.
A flicker of movement behind her caught his attention and concern furrowed his brow. Susan stopped in her tracks, a look of confusion adorning her beautiful face. Taking a step towards her, his arm outstretched, Jace froze in shock
