Susan made her way to the airlock with Philippa, Lucille and Dolores after Commander Travail had informed them that Jace and the others were outside the ship and had given the correct passphrase. When they got there, Max was already unsealing the door.
“I won’t be long, ladies.” Max told them, “Nearly finished.”
Dolores was bouncing on the balls of her feet, excitedly waiting for the airlock to open. The rest of them tried to hide their excitement, although Philippa was wringing her hands in front of her. Susan placed a calming hand on Philippa’s shoulder and she smiled nervously back at her.
“Nervous or excited?” Susan asked Philippa.
“Both” Philippa replied, taking a deep breath.
