After returning to the bridge, Susan had taken Kade’s chair and he found himself either leaning against a wall or wondering around the bridge for the rest of his duty shift. The ship had come into sensor range and it was just a Roman freighter, probably heading out of the system to trade. It had reached its maximum velocity and would go through the gate about 20 hours before them, so nothing to worry about.
He had felt Susan looking at him on a few occasions, but he tried to ignore her as much as possible, not wanting a repeat of what happened in the corridor earlier. His cheek still stung a bit, she had one hell of a slap!
