When Jace left the bridge, he knew that Jace was going to go and find Susan and spend some personal time with her. He knew that, because all he wanted to do is spend quality time with Philippa, but instead he was on duty on the bridge for another three or so hours.
Although he enjoyed being a commander and all the perks he got, he found that just sitting in the command chair when they were travelling between gates was tedious in the extreme. It was alright for Stein, he had constant course corrections to make, and Silver, he had constant reports streaming into his console from the rest of the ship to monitor. But Kade had nothing unless something the others encountered was important enough to warrant his attention or a command decision.
