After closing the door to Doctor Wallis’s office behind him, Jace’s eyes immediately landed on Susan, still laid on one of the sick bay’s beds, but now wrapped in a blanket and with Becky holding her hand and stroking her hair in a calming manner. Jace’s heart broke, as he watched a tear fall down the side of her face, knowing that if he hadn’t of argued with her earlier, she would have been in his cabin with him and not being assaulted by Abel.
He blamed himself for everything she had been through in the last two weeks and he instantly made up his mind, that no matter what he would make things right by her. He would do everything he could to ensure she never went to one of his planet’s women’s institutes and that she was returned to her home, no matter what hardship
