Chapter 8

***Ivy’s POV***

After I had calmed down enough to do the cleaning, I made my way up the stairs to the cupboard where all the cleaning products were and headed to the Alphas room. I knocked on the door and waited for an answer, I had learned my lesson when cleaning the rooms the first week I was here. I walked into the Alpha and Luna's room without knocking and what I saw wasn’t something that I liked to think about. I hated going into his room because of what had happened. A week after I had been let out of the dungeons, I was still getting the hang of all of my cleaning duties and I walked into the Alpha’s room to clean it without knocking, I walked in and heard noses coming from the bed, I didn’t know what they were and walked over to see what it was, I stopped in my tracks as I saw the Alpha grunting and moving up and down, I went to turn and leave but I heard a small cry coming from underneath him. I looked back and I froze, I couldn’t move. Alpha Jack had a younger Omega under him and she looked scared, I looked into her eyes and all I saw was desperation to get out of this situation. I gasped as I realized what was going on, Alpha Jack stopped moving and look over at me. He growled as he locked eyes with me and I slowly started to back away.

“Don’t you fucken knock?” He growled. The girl tried to get away while his attention was on me, but he grabbed hold of her neck and pushed her back down onto the bed.

“Where do you think your going?” The girl whimpered and all I could do was stand there frozen.

“What the f**k do you want?” Alpha Jack growled making me jump.

“I’m s-sorry Alpha I-I didn’t know yo-you would be in here. I’m just here to cl-clean the ro-room.” I strutted at him and looked at the floor.

Alpha Jack growled again, and I heard a tiny cry. I tried to ignore the cry but looked back at the girl, she was staring back at me, I could see in her eyes that she was asking for help, but I turned my head away and looked back down at the floor. I felt sick to the stomach for doing that, but I knew better than anyone to not get involved in the Alpha's business. I didn’t know what to do and was about to leave when the bedroom door slammed open and Luna Mary walked in, as she saw what was happening she growled and started shouting at Alpha Jack. He quickly got off the girl and jumped out of bed. Luna Mary walked over and grabbed the girl by her hair and threw her out of the room. She walked back into the room and looked at me, the anger in her eyes made me gulp, she growled again and slapped me across the face.

“Get out Ivy.” She said calmly which made me even more frighten, I grabbed the cleaning supplies I had brought into the room and ran out. She slapped the door shut behind me and I stood there not knowing what to do. I decided to keep cleaning so I wouldn’t be punished and went into Brittney's room to clean. I knew she was at school, but from now on I would always knock before I would enter a bedroom. I had nightmares of the cries for weeks, and I never saw the Omega again. I talked to Rachelle about what had happened and she said that the Omegas that got caught with Alpha Jake by the Luna would get dragged out to a pit just outside the border of the Packlands and that’s where they would stay until they died. I have never seen this pit, even before I became a slave, I wasn’t sure if it was true or not, but I didn’t question it not wanting to be over heard and get thrown into the pit. After quickly cleaning the Alpha's room, I moved on to the others. At 5pm I started cooking dinner. First I cut up some potatoes, sliced the carrots and other vegetables. Once all the vegetables were done, I started marinating the chicken breast. While the chicken was soaking in the sauce, I put the vegetables in the oven and started making dessert. When the vegetables were almost finished cooking, I put the chicken in a large pot to cook. I made three big chocolate caramel tarts and put them in the fridge. When the chicken was finished, I took the vegetables out of the oven and put it all on serving plates. I placed the food on the table and let Alpha Jack know that the tarts were in the fridge for after dinner. He nods his head and dismisses me to do the rest of my duties before bed. An hour later once everyone had finished eating and I had done all the washing up I headed to my room. I was starting to get nervous for my fist shift, what if they heard me cry out in pain? What if I couldn’t shift and got stuck half shifted then what would I do? My thoughts were interrupted when Brittney stepped in front of me pushing me up against the wall and growls in my face. I snap out of my thoughts and steer at her in shock. Ciara growls in the back of my head.

It's okey Ciara. I tell her

I don’t like this b***h. Ciara growled in the back of my head

Brittney shoves a handful of clothes at me.

”I need these cleaned by tomorrow morning before I go to school.” I nod my head, too tired to say anything witty or insulting back to her. She scowls her eyebrows at me when I don’t say anything back. She rolls her eyes and pushes harder up against the wall.

“Did you hear me mutt?” She growls.

“Yes.” I say tiring to control my emotions. I push past her and head down to my room, closing the door before she can say anything else to me. I look down at the pile of clothes in my hand and walk down the stairs to put them in the wash.

I'm sorry Ciara, it looks like we have more work to do before we can shift.

Its ok, we can do this. The shift won’t start until the moon reaches its peck so we should be fine. Ciara smiled in the back of my head. I look out my window and see the moon.

How are we shifting tonight? It’s not even a full Moon. I ask confessed.

The Moon Goddess has is allowing us to shift tonight because something is coming and we need to be ready for it.

Well that doesn’t make me feel better. I chuckle.

I walk over to my cot and grab some pillows, a blanket and my mattress to put them up against the door to block out any nose I make during the shift. As I walk back down the stairs, I feel pain ripple deep in my bones. I walk over to the back wall and laid down, I tried to ignore the pain, but it is getting unbearable. I start to feel my muscles pop and move then my bones start to break and reshape. I stand up trying to make the pain go away, but I fall to the ground and muffle a scream with my hand praying that no one will hear me. I lie on the ground tiring to breath though the pain for an hour, I am barely holding on to consensus when I hear Ciara's voice.

We’re almost their Ivy, just a little bit longer. Hang in there. Ciara whispers to me.

I close my eyes and push through the last little bit of pain, I try so hard not to scream as I feel my spin stretch, but it is difficult. I can see black spots across my vision and my eyes start going blurry. I can’t do it any longer and I stat to feel myself drift into darkness when I hear Ciara tell me to open my eyes. When I do, I see 2 white paws out in front of me. I gasp and slowly start to stand wincing as the pain still lingers, I wobble a little and try to steady myself. I move my head side to side tiring to look at myself, I see bright white fur that has a slight blue glow to it. I feel my tail swishes and I chuckle. I slowly walk to the bathroom, tripping over my feet and fall to the floor. Ciara chuckles at me and I get up again and shake my body.

Wow that felt weird to do. I laugh at myself

Have a look at yourself in the mirror. She chuckles again.

I start to wobbly on my paws again but I eventually got the hang of it. I started trotting around the room for a bit just trying to get the hang of walking on four legs, then I walked over to the bathroom and looked in the mirror. As I look at myself, I see beautiful bright blue eyes looking back at me.

Oh wow, Ciara you are beautiful. I say in awe of the wolf looking back at me.

No Ivy, we are beautiful. I smile at her and steer at myself a little longer.

When I have finished looking at myself, I walk around the basement again loving the feeling of being in my wolf form. I look down at my paws and felt my tail swishing side to side again. I chuckle and did a little jog around the basement. A while later I start to feel a little sleepy, I could feel the shift starting again. I want to hold on to it for as long as I could, but it slips though my fingers like sand. It wasn’t as painful shifting back but it still hurt. I felt my bones start breaking and changing back, I laid on the ground and let the shift come over me. Once I shifted back, I started on the cool floor for a while just breathing.

That was amazing Ciara thank you for sharing that with me. Ciara hummed back at me and curled up in the back of my head falling asleep.

I shakily get up off the floor, I felt so tired, but I had to finish the washing. I walk over to the bathroom and turn the shower on. I hoped in and quietly washed the sweet off my body. I hoped out and put on some warm clothes, I walk over to the washing machines and get the clothes out, I put them in the dryer turning it on hopping that it will warm up the room. I looked out my window and look up at the moon, I thank the Moon Goddess for giving me this amazing gift. I smiled and walked up the stairs grabbing the blanket, pillows and mattress placing them back on my cot and laid down looking up at the moon again. I haven’t been this happy in so long. I smile to myself and close my eyes. In the morning, I wake up and slowly sit up so I don’t hurt my ribs more. I touch my side in shock, I notice that I was not sore anymore. I lifted my shirt up and all the bruises were gone. I quickly run to the bathroom and look in the mirror. My black eye and split lip were gone as well. I smiled at my reflection and walk over to the dryer. I get out Brittney’s clothes and fold them. I make my way up to her room and placed the clothes on the floor outside her room not wanting to wake her up this early, I walked down to the kitchen to start cooking breakfast and plan what I was going to cook for Brittney's birthday in two weeks. I had to send out the invitations as well. I had made the design, but I needed the list of names of who was invited. I missed Rachelle so much. Not only because she helped me in the kitchen, but because she was my only friend here. Once I had finished cooking I placed the food on the table and when back into the kitchen to make something for myself. I grabbed some bread but stopped as a thought popped into my head.

I really hoped Rachelle is doing okey with her mate. I hope he is treating her well. I whisper to Ciara in my head

The Moon Goddess has told me that she is doing well and that you will see her soon.

How do you know that?

It is one of our gifts, we can talk to our Goddess. That stopped me in my tracks making me almost drop the bread.

Does that mean she heard me praying to her the other night?

Yes, she gave me permission to come early, and she is sorry for what her other children have put you though.

It's okay. We’ll get through this together.

Hey, Ciara how am I able to keep you a secret? Usually wolves can smell other wolves? I asked her.

I can mask our scent. It is a power that the moon goddess has allowed me to use while we are suck in this stupid Pack. Ciara grumbled. She blocked me then and I was confused why she had done that and was about to ask why she had done that when I picked up on his scent.

I walked over to the toaster and placed the bread in when Alpha Jack walked into the kitchen. I looked down at the floor waiting for him to start demanding something from me.

”Have you done all the invitations for the party yet?” He asked.

“Yes Alpha I just need the list of people that are invited and then I will have to send them off.” I said to him.

”I will get the list off Mary and give it to you, them give them to Gamma John, he will post them, you are not to leave the Pack house.” he growled at me making me flinch away.

“Yes Alpha.” He walks out of the kitchen and I walk over to the sink and start washing the vegetables for dinner. My toast popped and I quickly put butter on it and ate it before Alpha Jack got back. 20 minutes late Alpha Jack worked back in and slammed the list on the bench making me jump.

“There’s your damn list, the invitations need to go out today.”

“Yes Alpha.”

“Oh and dinner will need to be ready early tonight, we are all going on a Pack run.”

“Yes Alpha.” He stormed out of the kitchen and I went over to the draw where I had put the invitations. I quickly wrote out the names on the invitations. Once I had finished I sighed and worked up the courage to go and find Gamma John. I leave the kitchen and look around for the Packhouse for him. I walk into the entertaining room and find him sitting on the couch with an Omega. I didn’t like Gamma John, but I needed to give him the initiations so he could send them to the Alphas, if I didn’t I knew I would be punished for it. I took a deep breath and walked over to him and cleared my throat. He looked up at me.

“What do you want, mutt.” He snarled at me.

“Alpha Jack wants you to mail these for Brittney’s birthday in two weeks.” I told him. He grumbled and stood up snatching the invitations at of my hand.

”Get out of my sight.” He pushed me to the floor, I knocked my head on the corner of the coffee table making me see stars, he laughed and stepped over me.

Ivy just breath, I won’t let him hurt you.

How are you going to do that without him knowing your there. I said with a shaky voice

Just breath, everything will be fine.

He bent down and stroked my face.

“You look good down there, underneath me. I can’t wait to taste you.” He said and breathed in my scent, I shivered and tried to move away. The Omega stood up and stroked the back of his arm.

“Come on baby, I can show you a better time than this fifth.” She purred to him. He grumbled and pushed her away.

“Next time b***h, you will be mine.” He looked down at me and smiled. He stood up and stepped over me, when he was out of site I took in a deep breath and sat up.

“Are you ok?” The Omega asked with worry in her face. She held out her hand and I grabbed hold of it. I nodded my head and slowly got up.

Ciara, how did you know she would do that?

I saw the worried look in her eyes when you walked in, she wanted to protect you from him. She said a little confused as to why the girl was willing to protect me.

“Thank you.” I said to her, and she smiled at me and walked away. I walked back into the kitchen and started to plan the menu for Brittney’s birthday. I decided to do platters for when the guests first arrived and then do a two-course meal. One main meal and a desert. I also had to plan what I was going to make the next day for breakfast. Once I had finished doing the menu, I walked up the stairs to Brittney's room, Luna Mary wanted me to get a list of things that Brittney wanted to take with her once she had found her mate.

Here we go. Ciara grumbled. I chuckled at her and took a deep breath knocking on her door.

“What!” she shouted.

”It’s Ivy, I am here to discuss what you want to Pack for the night of your birthday for when you leave with your mate,” I said. If you even get one. I thought to myself.

”Arrr come in and hurry up. I have stuff to do.” I walked into her room and began going through her clothes and a list of things she would like to take with her. The Luna and Alpha were so sure she was going to find her mate that night. Once I finished going through everything, I left her room and went to clean the Packhouse. The rest of the week was tense. Brittney had her first shift two days before her birthday and the Alpha and Luna were a bit disappointed as her wolf was smaller than any other Alpha born. I tried to stay out of her way, but she always found a way to belittle me.
