Clara cried throughout the night. Tears of bitterness, betrayal, lack of love, confusion and worry. All these factors added to her headache. She does not even know where to start from. Maybe to find the father of her child or get herself a job to do. Her red shot eye throbbed due to the hours of tears.
Seeing the change of attitude in her mother, she concluded that sooner or later, they might end up sending her out of the house. Her preparations must begin now. She strolled lazily to where her documents laid, all her credentials. She looked through them one after the other gathering her documents together. Her hunt for job must begin, enough of relying on her parents. She went back to the bed with tears flowing down her face again remembering the good times she spent with Lydia.
She still finds it so hard to believe that she betrayed her. She has too anyway.
All that happened to her built a strong resolution within her. She made up her mind not to shed a single tear, keep and protect her baby and begin her own life without the father of her child. Diverting her eyes to the bed clock, she sighed. The time is far spent, she definitely can not make it that day. She decided to begin her job hunt the next day.
Richard found himself waiting in anticipation. He needed to know who the gentle soul was that he slept with. He kept checking his phone for messages or calls from his assistant. Still in bed, he took his phone with the attempt of calling him anxious for nothing. That same instant, a call entered his phone. He raised his brows suspiciously. An unknown number!
He dropped his phone not wanting to pick it but on a second thought, he did.
"Bastard! I'm back for you." The unknown caller yelled from the phone. Richard removed the phone from his ear staring at the screen in confusion.
"And who the hell are you?"
"Who am I? Hahaha...you will find out soon." The caller said before ending the call leaving the bewildered Richard to pinpoint what was wrong. He has heard that voice before and the person's laughter kept ringing in his head. He held his head groaning in pain as pints of blood dropped from his nose. He kept yelling till he fell from the bed to the floor. At that instant, his assistant came into his room and widened his eyes when he saw him in that situation.
"Boss, boss." He called out frantically trying to get him up to the bathroom. Richard entered the bathroom with Raymond's assistance and dipped his head into the tub of water calming down a little. After a while, he brought up his head with his face flushed. He walked back weakly to his bed looking lost.
"What just happened boss? Are you sick?" Raymond asked worriedly. Richard could only nod his head disapprovingly.
"Why are you bleeding? Are..."
"Don't talk about it." Richard cut in sharply. Richard relaxed on the popped up pillow trying to catch his already lost breath.
Raymond saw that Richard was better before bringing up what he wanted to say.
"I made my researchs already boss." This caught Richard's attention as he sat up anxiously.
"The lady is one of Mr Wilson's daughter."
"One? How many daughters does he have?"
"Two, according to my research." Silence permeated for a while.
"Do you have her details with you?"
"No, I don't. I'm not sure which one of them is the one. We will just have to confirm." Richard eyed Raymond before looking away.
"Contact Mr Wilson and tell him that we will be visiting him this evening."
"Noted." Richard replied before leaving to do so.
Mr Wilson hurried from where he was to his home as soon as he received the call from Brameld Company Ltd. He summoned his wife and his two daughters as soon as he got home.
"I received a call from Mr Richard this morning. He is coming to see us all."
"Really?" Lydia asked excited.
"Yes, he should be hear anytime soon. Clara, don't do anything stupid or embarrassing and you Lydia, coordinate yourself." He instructed. Not long after, Richard arrived with his assistant looking all dominating and oppressing. He stepped into the mansion of Mr Wilson looking around.
"Welcome, Mr Richard." Mr Wilson said as he shaked Richard.
"Thank you. Let us get down to business." Richard said collecting the metal earring from Raymond holding it out.
"This earring belongs to one of your daughters I guess."
"Yes, you're right. It's for my daughter, Lydia." Mrs Wilson cut in with smiles.
"Lydia? Can I see the Lydia?" Lydia stood up shyly twisting her body seductively. Richard nodded his head in disapproval.
"I don't think this is her. What's your name?" He asked diverting his gaze to Clara.
"She is Clara. You don't need to mind her. Lydia here is the owner of the earring." Richard looked on in doubt but has no choice.
"We need to get married."
"What!" Mr Wilson and his family all said together.
"Are you interested or not?" Richard asked impatiently.
"We are, Mr Richard. It's just so shocking that you gave this offer." Lydia smiled with excitement. Mr Wilson signed the necessary documents he needed to before giving his consent. Clara left their presence in confusion. She stepped to the balcony. Lydia borrowed her the earring that night they both went to the pub. Now she's laying claim on it.
She sighed with the conviction that is is none of her business. She turned back ready to go back inside but bumped into a hard chest.
"Ouch!" She winced. With her eyes scrutinized, she looked up to a pair of emerald eyes, a sharp jawline and a pointed nose staring down at her. She opened her mouth marvelling at the handsome face.
"Clara?" His voice jolted her back to reality. She stepped back bending her head low.
"I'm sorry." She said before moving pass him. As she stepped forward, her leg bent against a rock causing her to fall. She was caught by long arms and a very strong scent. Their position was very awkward. He held her pinned against the wall with their face almost meeting. She became lost in his eyes. Jerking back to reality, she pushed him back before running out. Lydia gritted her teeth form the corner she was looking at them.
