There are a few more questions from the press after Carter kisses me, but none of them are about whether our mating is real. That kiss seems to have convinced them it is, and I can't blame them. It certainly left my head spinning.
Someone asks about my job and if I'm going to continue working after Carter and I are mated. I look up at him, not quite sure what to say. It's not something we've talked about yet.
“Quinn is going to continue to serve the empire as she's always done,” he answers for me, his face full of pride. “We're still figuring out the best way for her to do that, but trust me when I tell you, your future queen can kick anyone's ass.”
