~~Carter's PoV~~
An hour after I left her with my mother, Quinn returns to my office and tells me what Erica said about the files she was supposed to be delivering last night and the necklace she's wearing. Those are both great leads and I thank Quinn for getting them. She's handling this all so well, without jealousy or pettiness, focusing on the task to be done. It's one of the things I like most about her; there's no drama or games like there is with a lot of the women I've been with in the past. She's open and honest with me, and it makes me want to be just the same with her.
I don't have anything new to share yet, unfortunately, so when she's finished telling me about her meeting, I reluctantly tell her she can leave to do her other work for today.
“We can catch up later though,”
