Controlling his breathing, he stepped past clusters of leafy vines that crawled up the face of the residence’s sandstone-colored brick wall. When he reached the front gate, he gazed through it at a large, brick home with arched eaves above every door and window. The home rested between tall trees with thick trunks and full branches that provided ample shade from the sun. A pair of concrete pathways hugged its north and south walls. Parked in the driveway, beside a lush flowerbed, was a red Maserati convertible. Sean spotted a callbox mounted to the gate and pressed a button at its center.
