Chapter One
Third person's POV
Ruby delivers a small knock on the front door, she pauses to sigh heavily and runs a hand through her red hair tiredly. Ruby does not get a response until the third knock when the door opens wide revealing Rita, her best friend with a tired look on her face causing both her and Ruby to have matching glares.
"You look like a disaster." Rita comments leaning on the door for support with a glass of water in her hand and her work clothes still on her.
"You too." Ruby says watching Rita pave way for her and gesture her into the house.
Ruby throws herself on the couch carelessly and releases a loud yawn.
"Our bosses are horrible people." Rita says groaning in frustration and settling on the couch facing the couch Ruby is on.
Ruby just rubs her forehead and shuts her eyes close for a brief moment while Rita excuses herself to answer a phone call. Rita returns back with an excited look on her face. She squeals loudly jolting Ruby out of her sleep.
Ruby jerks off the couch startled by her best friend's sudden outburst. All the fatigue in her vanishes and she gazes at Rita with both her brows raised at her.
"What are you doing Rita? What is going on?" Ruby throws questions at her friend who just shrugs it off and grins even wider.
"I have good news for us!" Rita says doing a mini silly dance. Ruby scrunches her brows in further confusion.
"What do you mean by good news Rita?" Ruby sits uptight in curiosity.
"Apparently I have been dying to get a VIP ticket to this bar that just opened by a popular hotel called Octave Hotel, people say that their nightlife is really wild and a lot of famous people come there often so you see how hard it is to get a ticket?" Rita trails off beaming in excitement. Ruby's brows are still raised in confusion as she can not comprehend the good news Rita has in mind for her. Ruby gestures Rita to keep talking and she does not hesitate in doing so.
"Apparently, my sister who works as a manager for Octave hotel just called me and told me we got two VIP tickets to the bar!" Rita deadpans.
"Wait, so that is the good news?" Ruby questions in a disappointed tone. Rita nods her head and smiles cheekily at her best friend who just shakes her head in disdain and goes back to lying on the couch.
"Come on Ruby, we can have drinks tonight. You know how stressed we both feel." Rita says squatting in front of Ruby and trying so hard to convince Ruby while giving her the best puppy look ever.
"No, whenever a normal human being is streessed, they do not go partying Rita, they go to sleep plus I can not afford to get work the next day with a hangover. My boss would kill me." Ruby says staring at Rita with wide eyes.
"Your boss is horrible, why does he get to go clubbing but you do not? You should quit your job." Rita snaps at her friend with a scowl on her face.
"How do you know my boss goes clubbing and no, I am not quitting my job. The paycheck is really good." Ruby says equally frowning.
"Who does not know Aiden Flare and his wildlife? Everybody does Ruby. Just this once huh? Have a drink with me this once. I have no one else to go with, you are my only friend!" Rita cries out.
After a lot of persuasion from Rita, Ruby finally gives in but she promises Rita that they will only spend an hour there. Rita on the other hand is too excited to even pay any attention to Ruby's instructions.
The girls arrive at the hotel, Rita is able to show her tickets from her phone and the bouncers there let them both in immediately.
The bar is calm and slow Latino music blares from the speakers while a people are gathered around their table having drinks and laughing at something.
Rita leads Ruby towards a table at the far end, they order just a bottle of tequila because the prices of the drinks are very high.
Rita takes a few shots and wanders off somewhere with an old friend of hers that she meets at the hotel.
Ruby's eyes roam the environment and her eyes finally land on a familiar face.
Her mouth hangs open at no one other than her boss, Aiden Flare struggling to stand on his feet. Ruby notices how drunk he looks and how he can not stand all by himself. She scurries towards his direction hastily and freezes right in front of him.
"Sir, are you okay?" Ruby asks with a look of concern on her face as she watches his blue eyes turn a bit red out of too much drinking.
His eyes meet Ruby's warm brown eyes for a brief moment before his eyes roam every part of her body and finally rest on her waist. Aiden licks his lips at her obvious curvy waist. He staggers towards her but accidentally trips and falls into her arms. Ruby releases a small moan at the feeling of his touch on her body.
"I want to get out of here." Aiden whispers softly in her ears. His voice is hoarse and rough sending a tingling feeling in Ruby's stomach. She gulps a lump down her throat and raises her head to glare at him.
Their faces are only an inch apart and Aiden's eyes are now on her lips which makes her feel extremely uncomfortable.
Aiden dips his hands into his pockets and fetches out the key to his room.
"Room 18." He mumbles. Ruby nods her head and hastily helps him up the stairs that leads to his hotel room. With the help of a worker at the hotel, Ruby is able to get him into his room unaware of what might happen next.
